Teddy – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month

Hi, my little fella is called Teddy; he’s a seal mitted Ragdoll whose birthday is September 8. I bought him on December 8 December 2011 after losing my beautiful Babycat is the most tragic of ways in May. Baby was a normal moggy, but had the sweetest nature ever, he was killed by an escaped dog in our own back garden, horrible.

Anyway, after this very upsetting event, I knew I would eventually have to have another kitty, but I was extremely paranoid about having one that would want to roam around outdoors after what had happened previously. I first saw Ragdolls’ on Cats 101; indoor cats, big and beautiful. The perfect cat for me!!

I found a breeder not too far away from where I live and arranged a visit when she had kittens available. I fell in love instantly with the tiny, furry things that ran around fighting and playing!

Teddy was named because he looked just like a teddy bear! And he is truly stunning! But very naughty……….. I was quite amazed that Ragdoll kittens behave just like “normal” kittens i.e. scratching, biting, climbing walls and curtains and generally getting everywhere they shouldn’t!

I purchased lots of new toys for Teddy, but his favourite things are balled up socks, balled up paper and my hair bobbles! He LOVES playing fetch, it’s the cutest thing when he bring whatever item to you and drops it so you can throw it for him! This is now a favourite technique

to wake me, drop a toy on my head……. Twinned with a quick nip on the nose, it never fails!

Teddy is the naughtiest cat I’ve ever had. He helps himself to packets of cat food, my biscuits, anything left alone for more than five minutes. The bath is another favourite thing, I fully expect him to fall in one day!

He’s hard work sometimes, but I love him dearly and am so happy I decided to get myself a Ragdoll kitten!
