Cappuccino – Ragdoll of the Week
This is Cappuccino. He is a blue mitted lynx. He is close to 3yrs old and was born on February 11th. Our daughter surprised us with him after we lost our sweet tuxedo cat, Othello who was 17. We also have Gypsy who is a long-haired domestic cat.
I was upset and not sure I even wanted another cat. My daughter knew I had always wanted a Ragdoll after reading about what a great breed they are. She searched high and low for a good breeder.
We were on our way back from Florida and she let it slip that she had a surprise waiting for me. My daughter is a vet tech and I just knew the surprise would be a kitten. One look at this little puff ball and I was in love with him. He had the biggest blue eyes and the sweetest little face. The very first day he crawled into my lap and fell asleep.
He was quite young when we got him, just 9 weeks, which I now know is a little young to leave his mom. He was also very tiny, barely 2 lbs. He was the runt of the litter and the breeder almost kept him, but at the last minute let my daughter adopt him.
Gypsy was not so in love with him. Being an older cat all she did was hiss and growl while he wanted to play. This did not stop him from chasing her all around the house and jumping on her. She tolerates him now and will even sometime play with him.
Cappuccino is a real character and every day he brings us joy and laughter. When my husband is doing work around the house cappuccino is right behind him trying to see what is going on.
He is so happy when an order from Amazon comes so he has a new box to play with. He loves heights and is very content on top of my kitchen cabinets even though he has a huge cat tree in the living room. He loves springs and pipe cleaners and runs all around the house with them.
He always has to be in the same room we are. His fur is quite long and I love brushing and combing him. He is good about it and lets me trim his nails. In the summers we are on our boat and Cappuccino is a good first mate. While he is not allowed outside, he enjoys watching the seagulls safely inside.
We winter in Florida and first thing in the morning he begs to go on our screened in lanai. Our neighbors love him too and when he sees them, he runs up to the screen and greets them. If he’s not outside I hear, can Cappuccino come out and play?
Cappuccino loves to play and Gypsy doesn’t so soon we will be getting a second Ragdoll, a little sister for Cappuccino and Gypsy. She is a seal mitted tortie and her name is Mocha Latte. In a few weeks she will be old enough to come home and then the fun of having a kitten will start all over again!

Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,
I’d love to hear how a third cat worked out for you. We have the same situation with our one-year-old ragdoll and his 7-year-old sister. He wants to play and she doesn’t. I tell my husband we should have adopted two ragdoll kittens so they could play with each other and leave Sis alone but he was afraid BOTH kittens would harass her instead of focusing on each other. Good luck with the new addition!
Thanks! We are picking her up on Sunday! I’m so excited. She will be 3 mos old so big enough to play. Cappuccino is super friendly so hopefully they will get along well. I’ll let you know how it goes.
