Ragdoll of the Week Submission Guidelines
You might have noticed that we have a Ragdoll of the Week on Floppycats.com.
If you are interested in submitting your kitty as Ragdoll of the Week, we welcome you to share stories and photos of your Ragdoll cat or Ragdolls with us and Floppycats.com readers.
Ragdoll of the Week on Floppycats isn’t a contest or really a selection process – as long as you follow these guidelines (that keep us sane =)) and submit your story and photos in full, your kitty will be next in line for Ragdoll of the Week.
Please note: The only limitation for Ragdoll of the Week submissions is that your kitty needs to be at least 1 year old. If your kitty has passed (has died), s/he is still welcome! Is your kitty not old enough to be Ragdoll of the Week? You can always submit them as Ragdoll Kitten of the Month instead!
What to Submit:
If you would like to submit your kitty as the Ragdoll of the Week, please send at least a 500-word story (the story can incorporate the answers to the questions below to help you come up with material – 500 words is about 1 full page on Microsoft Word) as well as 5-8 images of your kitty (appropriate to the story makes it more fun!) to jenny [at] floppycats.com.
The limit is 8 photos. Please select the photos you want to appear on the site and DO NOT send me extra photos to choose from. Please note: you are NOT limited to 500 words – you are welcome to submit a story of 4,000 words, for example. I require a minimum of 500 words.
- How did you get your Ragdoll – was it rescued or from a breeder?
- If you got your kitty from a breeder, who was it, and would you recommend them?
- How did you become interested in Ragdolls?
- How old is your kitty? When was your kitty born? Have you had your kitty its entire life? In other words, since s/he was a kitten?
- What does your kitty like to do? Or not like to do?
- Is your kitty on YouTube? Share a link to his or her channel with us!
- How did your kitty get their name?
- Do you recommend any food, toys, beds, etc., to other Ragdoll owners because your kitty loves them?
Please know the questions above are just guidelines – the only thing to follow is 500+ words and 5-8 photos; the rest can be what you want. Some people send answers to the questions above – but that’s not the purpose – the purpose of those questions is to get you thinking about what you want to write about – you don’t have to respond to all those questions or any of them. It’s meant to be written as a story, not a Q&A session.
Please note: Floppycats.com can accept original content ONLY – so if you have your kitty’s story on another website for example, you must submit a unique version here.
The reason for the 500-word story is that people love stories behind photos and want to know the similarities between your kitty’s story and theirs. The more you share, the better the responses.

Where to Submit:
Please send the complete story and 5-8 story-related photos all in ONE email to info [at] floppycats [dot] com. The limit is 8 photos. Please select the photos you want to appear on the site. and DO NOT send extra photos to choose from.
WARNING! Once submitted, stories cannot be edited/altered – so be sure your submission is complete and finalized before submitting it to Floppycats.com.
Additional Considerations:
If you’d like to have your Ragdoll cat featured, please know we look for photos that are close-up portraits of excellent quality, in sharp, clear focus, and without flashbulb effects. Also, note that you must own the copyright to any photos you submit or provide the appropriate copyright info and permissions from the person who does.
Want to share a video or two with your story? That’s fine, too, but please first upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo and then send us the direct link to the video on YouTube or Vimeo, so that we can then embed that video on the site.
Please do not embed your photos into a Word document and submit them that way. Unfortunately, we cannot extract them from the Word doc, so we must email you back to get the photos individually. Instead, please attach each item individually in one email.
Photos Too Large for 1 Email? Use wetransfer.com – it’s a free service.
To send multiple photos via your iPhone – go to “Photos” and then go to the Album, where the needed photos are. Then click “Edit” in the upper right-hand corner, and select the photos you’d like to send (you can’t send more than 5 at once, so limit it to 5). Then click on “Share.” Then click “Mail” and add our email address: info [at] floppycats.com.
Are you unsure if you should participate or if you want to? If you have additional questions, just let us know!
Don’t have a purebred Ragdoll cat but would like to share your kitty’s story? Please check out our Floppycat of the Week!
Is your kitty not old enough to be Ragdoll of the Week? You can always submit them as Ragdoll Kitten of the Month instead!
Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,
Zakragdollkittens is a scam too! I’m almost out 2,000 and the breeder is telling me to wait 2 weeks for refund! They asked for more money too!!
I am so very sorry!
My Raggie is Nermal. A precosc 1 year old blue point with signature blue eyes. She came to us by luck and had a rough start to life but you wouldn’t know it by her warm loving personality. She is my 5 year old daughter’s playmate, my 19 year old Mocha’s (calico) new step sister and the baby of the house.
I stumbled upon your YouTube sight while looking for something else and absolutely fell in love with your Charlie and Trig. Charlie reminds me a lot of Nermal in the video of him being a dry food junkie. So is Nermal. She’ll cry if she sees her bowl empty even when she’s not hungry. You give good information on your videos and well the cuteness factor is immeasurable! I like that you give your opinion on products and care without judging others. I also like that you dont just post things and never read the responses from your readers.
Thank you for sharing all the great information! Give Charlie and the whole gang a good scratch from me and my bunch in South Texas!

I had a Himalayan named Nermal. It is an unusual name and everyone used to ask me about. She was a rescue and already named.
I thought that everybody knew Garfield’s girlfriend Nermal.
I definitely had forgotten that!
we would love to rescue a ragdoll cat we love cats and can not afford one. I live in Woodhaven MI. You can call me or E-mail. 734-925-0328
hi I have a seal point ragdoll that was rescued. Her birthday was in October, though I don’t remember what day. Her name is Fluffy and she is ten years old. I’ve had this cat since she was a kitten and she’s always been very affectionate. Surprisingly, I have a fishing pole feather toy, but she prefers the stick rather than the feather. Her favorite toy is the red laser light though. This video shows her playing with the laser light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xQUv2klsUg&feature=plcp
She’s gorgeous! Have you considered submitting her story and photos for Ragdoll of the Week?
kit-kat is a perfect name because it is a kitten 4 kit and cat for kat lol hoped u like it
Hello! I guess I can brag about my Armando. He will be a year in April and I purchased him at a breeder – judgysrags in NY. I would recommend her. Armondo is not only beautiful but he is the right amount of affectionate and silliness. He likes to play fetch, eat kitty cookies and have his belly rubbed. He also has one of those laser toys but gets easily annoyed with it. I work in a mental health clinic and have taken him there a couple of times. He was very friendly and would probably be a good candidate for “pet therapy” – he puts up with everyone wanting to hold and pet him! Thank You!
Hi….just adopted a seal lynx 14 week old Kitten named Sydney….I LOVE HER SO MUCH….i have a 10 year old tabby whom i rescued from the OSPCA in Petawawa, On. They get along just fine.

Roseanne – there is no one Ragdoll Rescue that covers the world, for example, so my page on Ragdoll Rescues will help you find one in your area – or give you suggestions on where to look. You can also “like” Floppycats.com on Facebook and see the kitties that are posted there as soon as they are up for adoption. https://www.floppycats.com/ragdoll-rescue.html
I rescued my two female Raggies in November. They are two years old. Sascha is a blue point and Barbra Streisand is a blue bi color- I renamed them. They are wonderful and I am so happy that I found them, as I have always wanted a Ragdoll-now I have two. They aren’t so fond of the two male Maine Coon mixes that I have, but mostly get along. The Raggies love their cat nip, laser pointer toy and Valerian root. They love to be held and will let you know, politely, when they want down and love to be brushed. They are sweet kitties, however Barbra Streisand is more outgoing with the family and visitors. Sascha is still finding her place in the pecking order I guess.
