First of all hello to all the readers from Floppycats. My name is Álvaro and I am from Colombia, but I live in Finland working and studying here. I have always liked cats even if I have always had dogs when I lived with my parents. One of the things that I liked the most about cats is that they usually show an enigmatic behavior and that they can be cute but also independent. When I began to make some research on the type of breed that I wanted, I got very interested about Ragdolls not only because they look so adorable but also because they are very sociable. After I talked to a work mate that also had a Ragdoll I decided that this was the type of cat that I wanted to have with me as a friend and companion. I took my decision to buy a cat very seriously. I bought the Ragdoll Guide ebook on Amazon and I took a look at Floppycats. I wanted to know everything about Ragdolls to be prepared for my dear new family member. Then I contacted a local breeder in Turku, Finland. Her name is Anne Röntynen from Salo. I would totally recommend her. She is a fine lady that loves her animals and takes good care about who the new owner will be. I actually had an interview with her and she checked my background and I also made all the questions I had in my mind. My kitty was born last April 2018 and his name is Misterio (like mystery in Spanish). I gave him this name because I think it sounds enigmatic just like Misterio’s eyes. He is a little bit shy but also a loving boy. He likes to jump to my bed and be close to me when I am taking a nap. Then he proceeds to hold one of my arms and lick it or give me a little bite. Pure cat love! He also likes to jump a lot (over the tables, the refrigerator, my laptop, etc) that I knew Misterio really needed a cat tree even if I am currently living in a small student apartment. I often let him wander on the corridor but whenever someone from the other apartments leaves he runs back to my room. He also likes to jump over my clothes after I come back from the laundry. He also loves to “hunt” small things that he finds on the floor. I have bought him some rubber balls to play with them and also I have bought him a couple of cords of different colors because he really like them specially my shoelaces. Like many cats, Misterio is a very curious boy. He likes to explore the closet and put his face on my shoes and sometimes he hides his toys inside of them. His favorite places in my apartment is the bathroom and his tree. Misterio has been a very nice companion and I am currently learning with him since this is the first time that I am a pet owner on my own. He is on Instagram as @Misteriodeturku. I have bought everything he needs (toys, food, sand) on Zooplus. And fortunately he adapted very quick to his new home and also to the food brand and sand that I bought for him. I have used Royal Canin food and treats and Trigerino sand for his box.Do you have a Ragdoll Kitten or Cat? Consider submitting your kitty! Hi Alvaro,
I’m new here and I’m Fluffy’s Mum. Fluffy is my lilac point ragdoll.
I LOVE your Misterio!!! He has such a beautiful name and is such a gorgeous kitty-cat. He looks so happy and contented in all his photos and his eyes are absolutely stunning. So expressive!!! I think he’s very lucky to have you as his Papa!!!
Best Wishes
Pam & Fluffy
Hello Álvaro! Mysterio is such a gorgeous kitty. I love the almost all-white Ragdolls with just small touches of color. (I have a lilac point Ragdoll, Loki, who is all white apart from his lilac/grey ears and nose.) I went to your Instagram feed to see more photos of your beautiful boy and am now following you. 🙂
THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH for sharing such a lovely story about your ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS BOY, Misterio, with us! Alvaro, it’s obvious that he is well-loved and cared for…he is BEAUTIFUL & CHARMING in each and every lovely pic you shared!! He sounds like an adorable, quirky lovebug! And, his eyes are STUNNING!! LURVE his coloring, too! (I am very partial to the Flames & Creams and lurve those toasted coconut color accents on their beautiful creamy colored fur!) 🙂 <3
Wishing you both many more years of good health, happiness, love and purry adventures together!!! 🙂 <3
Big hugs & lots of love & smiles!
Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3
Thank you for introducing us to beautiful Misterio. He is really a lovely animal and his name suits him. It sounds like you two are a “match made in heaven” and that you are both adjusting to each other nicely. I know you are very careful when you let him out of the apartment into the hall. If he ran down the stairs and disappeared that would be very sad. It looks like you walk him on a leash or a halter, and that must be fun for both of you! Enjoy your handsome little man and happy holidays from Armonk, NY, USA.
