Mooshu – Ragdoll of the Week

This is Mooshu…aka “puppy”. My Seal Mitted Ragdoll – Born 9/20/2010

He is the love of my life!! I got him from mom & dad as a birthday present just a few Months before we had to put my Saint Bernard Dreyfie to sleep…It’s never easy losing a best friend…but Mooshu’s constant antics & curiosity & trouble seeking sure kept me busy!!

How he got his name:

All I could mumble when I saw him was “mooshy mooshy lil baby kitty…” Seriously…I was a blubbering mess! When my folks asked me what I wanted to name him…“Mooshy” was all I said. I can’t really tell when Mooshy became Mooshu…but if you knew him…You would understand how perfectly much of a “Mooshu” he really is!

Some of the things he does that just make ya go “h’mmmm?”

He doesn’t “knead dough” on my chest…rather he kisses inside my mouth until he falls asleep…Weird right? Well…his little rough tongue starts to hurt my lips & upper lip after a while…so it’s just easier to lay there and let him have at it! I grew up with dogs…big dogs…dogs that liked to slurp on your face…and I would slurp them back…so when I got a kitty it was just a natural Mooshu 2012instinct…I guess! Sometimes…when he kisses too hard…I will grab his lil tongue with my lips & stop him for a bit…he just sits there & waits till I release it & goes back to town on me! Eventually when he gets too tired to kiss any longer…he will suddenly stop & put my nose in a vice grip with his teeth…but I SWEAR…he is so freakin gentle about it…does not clamp down at all…just holds my nose…and if I move my face away from him to the side…he takes his pudgy paw and pushes my whole face back to him!

He seeks attention by knocking ANYTHING over…and when it lands on him…he comes to tell me & takes me to go look…like he thinks he deserves an award!! (FYI…he does the same thing after a good poop to let me know his butt needs a checking!!) He is the true meaning of the term…a “floppy cat” I can hold him any which way I want…for as long as I want…He will let me brush him…when HE is in the mood. Mooshu makes me smile all day…and even at 4am…when he wakes me up by curling up into my face…just to cuddle. Needless to say…I simply ADORE him…and he adores me!

Mooshu in a Sink
Mooshu in a Sink

Every morning while I am in the bathroom getting ready…and after he pretends he’s driving the autobahn on my stairs…he comes in and does this rolly polly floppy thing up against the base of the toilet…I am guessing because it’s cold? It’s the funniest thing and I stop mid contact lens insertion & rub his belly…which in turn makes him flop & roll over & over into the base even more!

And then there’s the sink! Have you ever tried brushing your teeth over the toilet? I am often forced to. And then rinse downstairs in the kitchen! What? You mean make him get out of the sink? Who are you kidding! No way! Look how cute he is. I can make the sacrifice.

I got him this cute little water dish right? Cute until I saw him  pushing it around on the carpet with his pudgy face & then sticking his whole chest into the bowl & just hovering over the dish absorbing up whatever remained of the water!

Ahh-ah…I got smart & got one of those auto-fill water thingys!! Perfectly graceful right? Until he decided to knock over the whole thing.

I tell ya…he must have a thing for water though…He LOVES the rain…here he is in mid batting at the window to catch the drops.

Well…in short…that’s my boy! Mooshu! I love him more & more every day…and I think he even likes me a little bit too! Thanks for reading!
