Illaria Rose – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month
My name is Illaria Rose and I was born on June 24, 2012, near Washington, DC. My parents are very pretty Ragdolls who live at Angelgirls Ragdolls. My dad, Pounce, is a quadruple grand champion, and my mom is Lola. One day, I hope to grow up to be big and beautiful just like they are, but for now, I’m happy being a playful, cute little puff of a girl (only weigh 3 pounds) whose main loves are eating, playing and purring.
On October 8, 2012, when I was 4 months old, I came to live at my forever home. At first, I was a little scared about 2 big kitties just staring at me, but Olivia Grace, a big, fluffy 11 month old Ragdoll, was so kind and friendly to me that I soon was able to just relax and be able to start having lots of fun. It was no time before Grace and I became really great friends. Now we follow my mom everywhere she goes and play as hard as we can chasing balls or other toys. My older sister, Mariposa, didn’t like me much, but now she thinks I’m OK and watches over the two of us like a mother.
Now my days are filled with sleeping, playing with toys, toys and more toys, and getting lots of love and attention from my human mom. My dad says I have too many toys and that our family room looks like a baby daycare center. But, my mom just loves to buy us new toys, especially when new ones come out on Floppycats. Mom said we have a big surprise coming for Christmas, something that has to do with a fish, whatever that is. I don’t know, but I’m sure it will be fun. I’m still kinda scared of the Undercover Mouse.
The one thing I really really love is to eat. Mom says I’m just like a Hoover, vacuuming up my Royal Canin Kitten food plus everyone else’s if any is left. Then I go inspecting the house for orphan morsels left here or there. One thing I have come to love recently is my mom’s ice cream. I get so excited for a lick or two. It is all I can do to contain myself when I see her unwrap it. My entire little body begins to shake because I want it so bad. Sometimes I even try to hold the popsicle between my paws, but it gets really cold and then I have to lick my paws.
My mom and dad love me so much. They say I’m the cutest baby kitty they have ever seen, but I know they said that to Grace too because they have never seen a kitten who wasn’t the cutest. Mom’s best friend says I look like a little cloud with eyes. Now that I’m getting older, my color points are becoming more noticeable. Mom thinks I will look a lot like my kitty mom, Lola, from Angelgirls. She tells me about 20 times a day how much she loves me and loves to hug and kiss on me. I just sit there and give her head butts and purr and purr my little heart out. Can’t wait for Christmas and know Santa is bringing us lots of toys and treats. My mom even got Grace and me matching dresses. She said she might even send you a photo of us with our holiday attire on! Big sister Mari has a holiday scarf because she gets mad really easy, especially if she had to put a dress on. She’s not a floppycats like Grace and me. We love to play dress up and pose for Mom’s photos. Until next time, hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and holiday season.
Lots of love,
Illaria Rose
Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,
Thank you all for your sweet and endearing comments. Illaria has brought so much joy into my life at a very rough time. She is the sweetest little girl and so full of life and energy. I had written this story a few months back and since that time, she has gotten her big sister, Mari, a 5-year-old Maine Coon, to learn that playing is fun and not something to be afraid of. She is truly a blessing and thank you all for your kind comments.
What a beautiful story – I can tell you are going to be a wonderful writer when you grow up! Or maybe a model, because you sure are beautiful!
Oh my sweet baby Illaria Rose, if you live in NoVa I would be so proud to be your professional sitter and companion. My Rag Doll, Baby, is 17 and said she would share me with you. I promise I would make you so happy while your parents have to be away, although we know parents never want to be away from their babies. Please feel free to let me know if you want me to meet your mom and dad anytime. Baby lives in Fairfax and I go all over NoVa through AuPurr, my company. In the meantime, welcome to the world of Floppycats, we love it here. You are so beautiful but you already know that.
You are beautiful!
What a darling, what a face.
And what a beautiful girl you are! We share the same birthday miss Illaria rose!!
“A little cloud with eyes”- perfect description! A white fluffy cloud! I definitely empathize with the comment about the excess of toys- it’s hard to resist when they have so much fun with them. Congratulations on your beautiful baby.
