Raina – Ragdoll Of The Week
Originally published May 24, 2010
I first learned about Ragdoll cats when I was given a subscription to CAT FANCY for my tenth birthday. I fell in love with their gorgeous blue eyes and sweet faces, and each month when the magazine arrived I would eagerly look for photos of Ragdolls (and would even skip to the back and read the Ragdoll breeder ads before the main articles!) Ten years later, my childhood dream came true and I adopted a beautiful Blue Lynx Bi-Color from Jazzmania Cattery in southern Pennsylvania.
Today Raina is three years old and the most lovable furrball ever! Like many other spoiled Rags, she is waited on hand-and-paw! Every evening, Raina settles down on the sofa, leaving the smaller loveseat for her human mommy. Even though she has a delicate tummy, but one thing that is never turned down is Halo’s “Liv-A-Little” freeze-dried treats (Raina heartily recommends them!)
Raina’s favorite activities are sleeping, bird-watching, bug-chasing. She has a custom-made piece of furniture the exact height of the windowsill so she can look out in comfort, and sleeps with me every night. Sometimes at bedtime she will creep up, utter tiny meow, and begin kneading with bliss. At this point I look into her wide blue eyes and tell her, “You are the best kitty in the world. What would I do without you?” And the purring begins.
Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,

Raina is lovely, and her personality reminds me so much of my girl’s. My fur-baby also has a sensitive tummy, watches birds from my desk which is parked right inside a window, and she sleeps with me. Our Ragdolls are so precious!
Isn’t she lovely? Thank you for sharing Raina’s story and her beautiful pictures with us 🙂
Beautiful Kitty!!
Raina is soooo beautiful. Can see why she just melts your heart and you are smitten with those big beautiful blue eyes. Thank you for sharing your sweet story with us and am glad you finally got your dream kitty.♥♥
Raina is absolutely beautiful! I couldn’t agree more about the bi-color being my favorite color pattern as well. I’m the proud owner of a seal bi-color Ragdoll and their sweet faces and killer blue eyes just make you melt like butter. Thank you for sharing her story.
Raina is gorgeous. I’m working on adding a blue bicolor female baby in the coming months as they are my favorite. I love the photo of her doing the Ragdoll flop!
What a sweetie. Gorgeous eyes!
Raina is one gorgeous girl! Sounds like you two have a wonderful relationship. I agree that they deserve only the best- they should be spoiled with as much love as possible.
Beautiful girl!
She is a beauty.
Love that you had a Cat Fancy subscription at 10 and read the breeder ads first!
She’s a cutie!
See as this was first published in 2010, I’d love to hear how you are both doing now.
Wow, Raina is a beauty. The Bi-Color is my all time favorite pattern for Ragdolls. I think it accents their pretty faces. Thanks for sharing her with us!
she is so beautiful! thanks for sharing your story. my cats love halos too. they go nuts for them.
If Raina like Halo’s freeze dried treats try Whole Life freeze dried ones. They are less expensive and mine prefer them to Halo’s brand. My family of five love them. The chicken and the cod are their favorites. Just thought you might like to know, I have no affiliations with this company, I’m just a cat lover who is owned by five previous feral cats that mean the world to me.
All my best,
Nancy
