Karma – Ragdoll of the Week

karmaWell its been my life long dream to have a pet ever since I got here in Canada, I move to Canada from the Philippines last September 18, 2009, leaving my Family behind , after a few months I got the chance to visit the SPCA here in Victoria City BC, and fell in love with one of the cat there I was about to adopt one but sadly my former roommate was allergic to cat so I cancelled my plan adoption then. Years have past I longed  to have a pet because working and being miles away from my family is very hard, I move to a basement suite, then last month my friend and I were chatting and all of a sudden she mention that one of her friend have a cat who recently have kittens and they are putting the kittens for adoption, I was so happy because I can now have a pet on my own, so we made arrangement to save one of the kitten for me, but sadly I have to wait for a few weeks until they are ready karmato go, while preparing for my ne kitten I start buying stuff for the kitty, then one day i was surfing the net and went to the site of usedvictoria.com, i was looking for kennels and other stuff because sometimes you can find good deals there as well other free stuff, so while looking and looking I came across the add saying ” free purebred Ragdoll Cat”.

I may say at first i was a bit hesitant to respond or send an email to show my interest because sometimes they will just ask for money, so I took my chances and send an email to show I was interested luckily they respond and said they need to know if I have a other pet dogs specially because that was the reason they putting Karma for adoption is because of their dog, its stressing the cat “Karma” so much, going back to the story Magdalena the name of the person who put the add and I exchange email with each other until they gave their number and address saying that they choose me to be the new family of Karma, I was so happy and excited the again ask me assurance that she will be the only pet in the house because she need the attention, so in karmaother words I turn down the suppose to be kitten, at first i was hesitant and having a hard time choosing between Karma and the kitten, its just I can’t have two cats at the moment and also karma needs to be alone, so in other words i chose Karma over the kitten, The day come to pick “karma up from her previous owner it was an hour and 15min drive from where i lived, the ride was long and a lot of question put in my mind will Karma like me will she be kind and I hope she wont scratch, we arrive to their place, right there and then Karma approach me and pur of s on me…. I ask the owners boyfriend why they choose me he mention there was a lot of respond to their add but they just saw my email and just choose me among the number people who wanted to adopt Karma, from then on Karma and I bonded together very well, she love being groom like brushing her silky hair, giving her massages petting her and just simply giving her the attention she needs, she loves her tower she usually spend her mornings on top, also i notice she love her picture being taken taking about a Diva eh! Also having her open my eyes about how wonderful Cats most specially the Ragdoll breed, I love Karma so much I know we are really meant to be together and I’m also glad because she brings joy into my life

  4. What a beautiful story – am sure that you and Karma were just meant to be together. Am so happy that you decided to pick her instead of the kitten because they always seem to get first pick and the older ones are left behind. Karma is so gorgeous. Her fur is luxurious. Lovely kitty and lovely owner. Best wishes for a wonderful and happy life together! ♥♥

  5. I’m sure you made the right decision when you chose Karma, Sherwin. Finding homes for kittens is easy but adult cats often aren’t adopted. That’s a shame because full-grown cats already have developed their unique personalities… you can tell right away if they fit with you and your lifestyle. Thanks for the lovely pictures and beautiful story!!! Sending purrs and hugs to your marvelous Karma 🙂

What a sweet story! 🙂 Karma is beautiful, I’m not surprised she loves the camera. I wonder if that’s a Ragdoll thing because Punkin is the same way. I hope you and your furry friend have many happy days!
