Rags B12 Shots
This is Rags, an 18-year old Ragdoll cat, getting a round of Rags B12 shots, also known as acupressure on 6-30-08.
Rags goes weekly to get his B12 shots, which I believe help with his arthritis and also weakening muscles. He is almost 19 years old (on August 12, 2008), so he, of course, has muscle deterioration among other problems.
As you will see in the videos below, the vet takes a needle with the B12 vitamin in it and inserts small doses of B12 along either side of his spinal cord.
Rags doesn’t seem to particularly enjoy this procedure. I am not sure if he really cares about the needle or the poking, I think he really dislikes being held down by the vet tech.
This procedure is being performed by Dr. Michelle Chappell of Mariposa Veterinary Center.
