Nova – Ragdoll of the Week
Nova – A Seal Colorpoint Ragdoll Cat
This is a story of our beautiful Nova.
We named her Nova for many reasons…we took her home with us in November and Nova in Italian means New. Nova has been the sweetest most loving cat we have ever known. She was born on August 27/15 which was my last day of work at a Children’s Rehab Center I had been working at for 30 amazing years. I had decided even after all these years change is a good thing so because new opportunities were unfolding for me and my kids…..Nova seemed the perfect name for this beauty. With change comes challenges and through it all Nova was the catalyst in overcoming some very tough moments I faced in this new job. As work was close by I would come home for lunch and my sweet Nova was always at the door to welcome me. I would spend my lunches holding this beauty who would sit next to me. It was as if she knew this new job was trying at times and how much I missed my co-workers. Even to this day my children and I know that if ever we have had a bad day….we pick up our Nova and that is a distant memory. I call her our Happy Hormone Cat. Our other nick names for her are Novabear, Novabelle, and my Coco Puff !!!
Nova came to us from a breeder called Chatabelles in Tilsonburg Ontario. They are truly amazing with their cattery, Rosie was a pleasure to deal with and always is available for any support you may need. Her cats have full run of their house and are all well socialized before you receive them. My kids always say mom… you picked the best breeder as they see how lovely and calm Nova’s temperament is. She has the most mesmerizing eyes both day and night. We say she has a million and one cute faces. We love how she talks to us especially for her treats every morning. As a kitten she loved any cat wand and springs but now she just loves watching her new little brother Kingston which we also purchased from the same breeder. At night she has a preference to sleep with my daughter who loves her to bits.In the daytime she likes to be on my bed. She loves to play peek a boo behind doors and under blankets too. And of course wherever there is water…there is Nova.
She absolutely… from the day it arrived loves her Petfusion lounge scratching post, in fact Kingston likes to give her a run for her money as he loves it as well. You never really can imagine how sweet your Ragdoll cat is until you bring home another one. Kingston can be feisty sometimes just being a lovable kitten…. but Nova takes it like a champ and has taken on that mothering role and whenever he meows she is the first one to go and rescue him. As a Ragdoll owner of two precious creatures we couldn’t be more blessed to have them in our lives. From the minute we brought them home they captured our hearts and continue to do so every morning we are blessed to have them by our sides. Nova will always be the reason we decided we needed another Ragdoll and the very first cat who has shown us companionship, unconditional love and pure joy each and every time she is by our side. Maybe this is why she has a cute upside down heart on her back…precious like her !!! To see that picture and many others follow novaragdoll on instagram.
If you have never had the pleasure to be in the company of a Ragdoll…you are missing out on one of life’s treasures.
