Do you have a Ragdoll cat?  Do you have a dog?  How do they get along?

One of the questions I am asked quite frequently is whether or not Ragdoll cats get along with dogs. After all, we all know the stereotypes about cats and dogs hating each other. But is that true, or is it just what cartoons teach us, and can Ragdoll cats and dogs co-exist in a home?

Cat allergies are commonly associated with cat fur, but contrary to popular belief, this is not the main cause of the allergy. In most cases, the fur is merely the carrier. The main triggers are specific proteins found in the cat’s saliva and urine, and cat dander (dead skin).

None of my ragdolls have ever slept in the sink or have been remotely interested in the sink. They associate the sink with water (their mortal enemy in their mind) and want nothing to do with it.

    1. =) I can understand that. Several of mine have never shown any interest.
