Are Pet Communicators Real?
This is usually the number one question about pet communicators. The bottom line is, while you have to be on the lookout for frauds in any business, most pet communicators are truly compassionate animal lovers who have felt a strong connection to animals from a young age. Just like horse and dog whisperers, a cat whisperer understands the way cats feel and behave, and due to this they are able to understand and interact with them. Often these cat whisperers speak of their career as a calling, and they truly dedicate their lives to helping pets and owners connect, with many pet owners willing to attest to the success of their practices.Pet Communicators for Cat Medical Issues and Cat Behavior Issues
So why do people hire pet communicators? Often pet owners turn to communicators when they feel they have exhausted all other options in certain situations:
- When a cat is ill and either unable to be diagnosed or not responding to treatment.
- When a cat is having inexplicable behavior issues.
- When a cat goes missing and search attempts have been unsuccessful.
- When a cat is deceased and the owner is looking for comfort and peace.
How Pet Communicators Work
Most pet owners have trouble understanding their pet’s verbal and non-verbal means of communication, so pet communicators bring to the table a special understanding of the way your pet behaves and communicates. They can assist you in understanding your pet’s behavior pattern and build a bond between you and your kitty.
Cat whispers might rely on extensive knowledge of the verbal and non-verbal signals cats send – for example, the sounds they make or their body position, much like scientific studies break down the range of sounds different animals make. They often rely on this knowledge to decipher what your cat is feeling and help you respond accordingly.
Other pet communicators focus more on an energetic connection to the cat, not necessarily derived from observation. These communicators might gather information from you through a phone conversation about your pet, or through a series of pictures of your pet. In this approach, pet communicators rely on the stories they can pick up on from photos or the energy of a cat’s home environment. Cats are sensitive to human emotions, so communicators are often interested in the pet owner just as much as the pet.
Another approach some cat whispers take is a holistic form of Japanese healing called Reiki. This form of therapy has been used for humans, but also works well on cats and other animals. Reiki practitioners tap into an energetic connection with a cat to introduce deep relaxation and reduce stress and nerves. Cats are especially energetically attuned, so they can benefit from Reiki, but as most practitioners and pet owners know, it depends on how receptive the cat is. Note that not all pet communicators are Reiki practitioners, but it is one area of animal communication.
Tips for Working with a Pet Communicator
If you think a pet communicator could help you resolve an issue with your pet or simply deepen the bond between you, here are some tips to keep in mind when finding and working with a pet communicator:- Research. Do your homework to find a pet communicator who can offer solid references and has an established career history. Ideally you can find someone recommended by a trusted friend or family member, but even then don’t be afraid to Google them to look into their background.
- Set boundaries. Be careful not to offer too much personal information to a cat whisperer, because it might end up clouding your judgment of the experience. If you feed someone all of the details about you and your pet and they are simply repeated back to you, you will probably be left with some doubts. At the same time, you want to approach the encounter with a sense of openness and cooperate with them in connecting to your pet.
- Fees. The prices of pet communicators vary widely, so be sure to choose someone who is comfortably within your budget. Be wise about your financial choices when it comes to treating a sick pet – if you have to choose between veterinary treatment or a pet communicator, lean towards paying the vet if the treatment has a real chance of helping your kitty.
- Prepare. Give yourself some time before an appointment to reflect on what you want to communicate to your pet or what you want to ask them. Talk to the communicator about some guidelines so you can really maximize the value of the experience.

Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,

I love this idea, maybe I may need it!
An absolutely fascinating and very helpful post, Jenny! I have never used a pet communicator personally and I doubt I could afford one either on our very limited budget. However, I do believe in them as there are so many gifted people in the world who truly have an affinity with animals and seem to be able to communicate with them on their level. I’ve seen this on different videos I’ve watched in the past. I truly do believe there is more to this world than what we can just see and touch. And being able to harness special gifts/energy into helping people with their animals is amazing!
Big hugs!
