Metal Cat Litter Scoop Product Review: It’s THE Scoop! by K-Kat
It’s THE Scoop! by K-Kat Metal Cat Litter Scoop Cat Product ReviewI vaguely remember seeing the Kickstarter campaign for the It’s THE Scoop! by K-Kat. I probably should have paid more attention because this is a really great metal cat litter scoop. Let’s just say, I am really pleased that their campaign was funded because they’ve made a great product. Made of solid steel construction, this cat litter scoop is both strong and lightweight. It has an incredible ability to lightning-fast sift clumping litter, as you can see both in the arrival and final review videos below. The quick sifting with the steel wire tines make for a virtually dust-free scooping experience. The steel wire tines are zinc-coated to prevent rusting (cat urine exposure) – I did soak the scoop in a bucket of hot water with some dish soap to clean it. It held up well – but I wouldn’t suggest soaking it overnight as any metal will eventually react to water. The other great thing about this scoop is that it has a large collection basket – which is great for my two Ragdoll cat wet-food-only-eating big clump peers. My only complaint is the handle – it’s not comfortable and awkward – but as I said in the final review video – how long as you really holding the scoop? It does it’s job so fast that maybe it’s held 3 minutes a day, if you scoop two times a day. Maybe it can be re-designed at some point. Overall, this is an awesome cat product – making cat owners’ lives easier and cat litterboxes cleaner and happier – a win-win!

Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,
Thanks for this great review and info, Jenny (and Teresa!!!)! The videos, as usual, are awesome. I think I’ll stick with my One True Litter Scooping Love: The Litter Lifter. (And that’s just because I know how uncomfortable that metal scooper would be for me to use with my nerve damaged hands.)
Glad they got their project funded and are in business and hopefully doing well. I really admire when people want to design a better product to help making one of The Worst Kitteh Chores a bit easier! 🙂 <3

Nice scoop. I got 3 when I funded the Kickstarter program and tried them out last month. It does make the scooping very easy and fast which I think will be great when mine go to the kitty rescue that has over 100 cats. That said, as I’m realy particular about scooping their boxes twice or three times a day, the Litter Lifter gets the teeny tiny pieces that fall through this one. Still it is a great scoop that does the job in a flash!
Ah yes, Teresa – I agree. I am working on a comparison video!
Am interested to see what you think about the two in comparison. Think that each one has it’s own merits and I have used the two together on occasion with The Scoop first and then the Litter Lifter just to remove any stragglers.♥♥♥
I have been using them side by side – as you know I am a fanatic about the Litter Lifter – much like the Yeowww! Catnip Banana. I do believe that the Litter Lifter now has stiff competition. However, if I was to choose one or the other, I would still pick the Litter Lifter for our litter boxes. How about you? If you had to pick just one – which one would you choose? I will make a comparison video though – hopefully soon.
Would choose the same as you – the Litter Lifter just because I have time to scoop and am picky about getting all the tiniest pieces that fall through with The Scoop.
