Whole Life Pet realFoodie Healthy Cat Treats Product Review

Years and years ago a Ragdoll cat breeder who fed her cats raw food told me about Whole Life Pet treats.  I was impressed at the time that she was feeding her cats raw – it wasn’t as big of a thing as it is now, so I saw her very progressive for her time…and given what I know about what a lot of breeders feed, I still think of her as progressive.

So when she told me about Whole Life Pet treats – I immediately became interested.

Ever since, my cats have eaten them.  Those of you familiar with our social media channels, know that I call them “cheats” and Charlie loves them.

Whole Life Pet treats started out as just one ingredient treats – so the chicken was just chicken breast freeze dried and cut into chunks.  Salmon was the filet of salmon freeze dried and cut into chunks.  So on and so forth.  

They have added different treats to their offerings since then and have some for dogs that have multiple ingredients, but since all healthy ingredients for the canine.

I have also had a relationship with them for years – they have supported giveaways and much more on the site.  So when they reached out to see if I would be interested in trying out their new realFoodie treats and after I check them out, I got pretty excited.

Their realFoodie comes in two “flavors” – chicken and salmon.  The Whole Life Pet realFoodie chicken is one whole grilled chicken breast that is freeze dried – so unlike the treats I described above, it is not in pieces, but rather an entire breast of chicken.

The Whole Life Pet realFoodie Human Grade Wild Caught Salmon is a chunk of a salmon fillet that is freeze dried – you can see what I mean by “chunk” in our unboxing and review videos below.  The pure salmon fillet cat treats are sourced and processed in the USA.

As you will see in the videos, we had a lot of “product reviewers” for this one, including:

They all loved the treats.  And that’s what’s cool about them – you can buy one treat for both species…because it’s just freeze dried meat – no other additives to worry about.

My sister discovered (when she was with our parents cats) that it worked well for a meal topper to get them to eat more wet food – which can be a real struggle with a kidney cat.

Since they are just freeze dried meat – they are a great option for cats with food allergies, cats with gastro-intestinal issues or those who are overweight.

Rehydration

You can also rehydrate them!  That’s right – just plop them in a cup or less of water, wait 2-3 minutes and they will rehydrate – a great option for a kidney cat or to bring out the aroma of the meat more strongly.

I will definitely be adding the Whole Life Pet realFoodie Salmon to our rotation.  The grilled chicken breast was great too – but I think my cats prefer the JustOne Chicken from Whole Life more.  But I definitely like it rehydrated and also for the dogs.
