Watch The Video of the Weird Things I Do With My Cat

About a week ago, I published a video showing some of the weird things I do with Chiggy.  We were in the middle of filming a Q&A video, and I needed a break.  So we switched where we were filming and while I was waiting for my sister who was the one filming, I started messing with Chiggy.  I then realized I should have her film this.  This is someting I do regularly with Chiggy for my own release, which isn’t the nicest thing…but he’s OK.

What weird things do you do with your cat?

  1. I don’t think Chiggy minds all that much. Probably not his favorite thing, but he knows it is one of mommy’s “eccentricities” and puts up with it because he loves you and knows you would never hurt him. If I did that to my cats I am sure I would have been hospitalized with bites and scratches! I try to do a raspberry on the Gracie’s toe pads. I get batted and hissed at so I don’t get very far.

  2. Awe, that is the cutest video. Am like ABarletta and don’t think Chiggy minds too much cause he loves his mama soooo much. I dress mine up in funny clothes, hats and feathers! Also, love to kiss their heads and smell the sweet aroma of spittle on their little heads after they have been getting kissed by each other. Once when I was young, I tried licking my cat on her face to see what it felt like and tasted to her when she groomed herself. Sometimes I purr to my cats when they are upset to calm them down. Yes, I CAN purr but not as good as they do it and only at times when my throat is really relaxed. OK, am sure I’ve just landed myself in the realm of being “a crazy cat lady.” Can’t wait to hear what other people say! Hehehe!♥♥♥♥

    1. love it, t – especially licking your cat as a little girl. thanks for sharing.

…on a side note, you might have missed my rant on youtube about “crazy cat lady” – i HATE that term – it is derogatory towards women and cats. guess it’s the feminist and felinist in me =)

      1. Oh, I don’t like it either but have been called that so much, I just automatically think that.♥♥♥

      2. I know – I need to write a post about it….it is thrown around too easily! there was an ad campaign by manufacturer one time and i wouldn’t support it because it was the crazy cat lady thing. i remember the PR agency being SHOCKED that i wouldn’t.

      3. Haha! I just laugh and try not to take it seriously because I would be just as upset as you feel if I did. So glad you stood your ground to the PR agency. You GO GIRL!!!!!♥♥♥♥

    2. You are so great with your kitteh girls, Teresa! Lurve how you dress up Miss Illaria and Miss Gracie. Too cute and adorable!!! Hilarious that you licked your cat’s face as a little girl. I can just see that in my mind. lol Amazing you can purr back to them. You are definitely a Cat Whisperer in my book! You have such a way with them! 🙂 <3

      1. Awe, that’s so sweet of you to say Patti. Thanks so much. We all love our babies so much, they become part of our very soul.♥♥♥

  3. Awwwww, I lurve your weird schtuff, Jenny! I guess I’m kind of a boring Kitty Momma! I can’t think of anything I do with Miss PSB that equals the quirkiness of what you just explained in your video. I really just silly baby talk to her, play with her feet a lot, dance with her…all things I would do with a baby, really. Well, she IS My Baby Girl… 🙂

    Big hugs!

    Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3

      1. Awww, thanks Sweet T! And, of course, I sing to her All The Time! (Sometimes it drives my hubby a bit crazy…but I don’t mind…lol) I like to make up little songs for her or sing old standards and just change the words around a bit to suit her name. She seems to enjoy it, I think. She always appreciates whatever I do. They truly seem to know how we are feeling and always have some love to give us. And they never judge! YAY!!! Lurve my Sweet Gal so much!!! 🙂 <3

  4. OK, I’ve just learnt a new cat term: “airplane ears”… Love it!

With Loki (and my previous cats) I love to push my face into their belly and blow raspberries when they’re lying on their back. He looks at me like “Dad, you’re so weird!” but I think he likes it!

We also like to go “exploring” around the house. I carry him in my arms or draped around my neck and we find things to sniff that he can’t normally reach, like light switches, clocks, the top of cupboards, pictures, all the while chatting away: “Loki-man, what IS dat ding over dere? Let’s go sniffin’ dat… what IS dat? Dat’s a light switch, bear!” etc… this can go on for quite some time. He loves it and is constantly purring.

If any one was watching through the window, I’d just die! Actually no, I couldn’t care less because I love him so much!

    1. Pawesome, Wayne! Loki is one lucky boy! 🙂

I do the strolling through the house thingy with Miss Pink Sugarbelle, too, and so does her daddy. She just lurves to see all the pictures on the walls and especially all the schtuff I have pinned to the fridge via magnets (the magnets are really fascinating to her). Plus, she’s the official kitty inspector for any mail that arrives whether it be envelopes or boxes…she gets first sniff at it all and puts her rub of approval on everything (that is safe for her to do so, of course).

      Big hugs!

      Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3

    2. Oh my gosh! You get the BEST kitty dad award ever! Love, love, love that you do that and then for you to write about it is even more amazing! What a kind, compassionate man you are. Yes, am sure Loki loves those raspberries too! I do that to my girls and they “laugh.” You know what I mean when they squint their eyes and become all animated. So funny! Loki is sooooo blessed to have a sweet dad like you to love him.♥♥♥

  5. I don’t think what I do with Loki is weird — more like nauseating for anyone watching. I love to pick him up and cuddle him while telling him repeatedly “You’re such a big boy! Who’s Mommy’s big boy? YOU ARE!” while kissing his little face. Loki clearly loves it because he gets a goofy look in his eyes and purrs rapturously. Loki’s daddy will talk baby talk to him, which cracks me up, because he so not the baby talk type. He will only do so very quietly and never in front of anyone but me.

    1. Awww, so sweet! Loki is such an awesome and quite popular name and very fitting I think for a quirky, mischievous Ragdoll boy! Your Loki sounds AMAZING and he is one lucky kitteh!!! My hubby does the baby talk All The Time and I lurve that about him. Our Miss Pink Sugarbelle has her daddy wrapper around her big furry, tufty paw! 🙂 <3
