Here's How to Hold a Ragdoll Cat Without Hurting Them or Yourself

Here are a few tips on how to hold a Ragdoll cat without hurting them or yourself.

Step 1: Gain your cat's trust.

If your cat is uncomfortable with you, they are more likely to struggle and try to escape when you hold them. Spend some time petting your cat and talking to them soothingly before you try to pick them up.

Step 2: Approach your cat from behind.

This will help to avoid startling them. Gently place your hands on their sides and scoop them up under their chest and hindquarters.

Step 3: Keep your cat's body close to yours.

This will help to support them and prevent them from falling.

Step 4: Avoid putting pressure on your cat's stomach or legs.

These areas are sensitive and can be easily injured.

Step 5: If your cat starts to struggle, put them down immediately.

Do not try to force them to be held.

Why is it important to hold a Ragdoll cat properly?

Ragdoll cats are relatively large, so it is important to support their weight evenly when holding them. If you do not support their weight evenly, you could injure yourself.
