Walter Allen – Ragdoll of the Week

Walter Allen, aka Wally came in to my life around the middle to end of March 2010. I had recently lost my domestic cat Earl. I was anxious to get another cat and I wanted one who had similar personality traits as Earl, he was so calm and laid back. He followed me everywhere I went. So I started doing research and found information on the Ragdoll breed—I was hooked, I knew this was exactly the kind of kitten I wanted. The next step was to research Ragdoll breeders, I reside in Michigan but was not opposed to search all over for that perfect breeder. That breeder ended up to be in North Carolina, Gail Stone of Megailee Ragdolls. She has a wonderful small breeding program. I would recommend her to anyone.

Wally would be ready for his forever home at the beginning of May. That wait was horrible, when it finally came time to pick him up I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning! So there we were 15 hours from home with a 12 week old kitten.  What were we in for on this long drive? Let me just say he was wonderful on that drive home, I could not have asked for him to behave any differently. Of course Wally felt at home immediately.

Today Wally is 8 months old and weighs in at about 13lbs. He loves to hang out wherever there is a human,he does not like being alone… at all! He loves to run and fetch any kind of bell toy around. Serious spirts of energy come out of no where and can have you laughing out loud at the types of things that take place because of it. Running all around, into the shower, out of the shower, into another room, back where he came from, then to the shower again.

Walter is the cutest most fun loving animal I have ever come in contact with—I am not quite sure what I would do without him!

  1. Wally is so gorgeous!!! I know what you’re talking about when the “spirt” of energy happens, yes it is so funny!! My cat will try climbing the door jam, meowing loudly (normally she has a small, sweet meow) or take off and run around the house, talking loudly. I love your story!!

  2. Wally is adorable! Is he a blue lynx Ragdoll? I cannot tell if he has mitts or not. Looks like you both found the perfect companion ^^ His coloring is really beautiful!

  3. Aw, Wally is so adorable!! I know what you mean about the bursts of energy. Mine can sleep all day and then all of sudden he’ll start running around, launch himself into the bathtub, hide there and then run out just as fast. lol They really do make the best pets.
