Stella – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month
Stella – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month
I became interested in ragdolls when one of my friends introduced me to the breed about three years ago. I instantly became enamored with how gorgeous these cats are and their gentle personalities. Being the researcher that I am, I used the internet to acquire more information about the breed. There is always so much to learn about these babies! After a year of coaxing my dad (I am currently a college student) I finally got my ragdoll kitten on June 8th, 2014. We picked her up from a local breeder who owns a small cattery. This was her second litter and they were all seal pointed. It’s amazing to see the color patterns develop because both parents are chocolate lynx points. The first litter had all chocolate lynx kittens.
I decided on the name Stella even before I went to go visit this breeder. Surprisingly enough, the ragdoll I chose already had the name Stella; nevertheless it was meant to be. My mom and I went to visit the kittens twice before we picked her up. All five of the kittens were lovingly placed to good homes. She was born on March 12th, 2014 and was picked up at 12 weeks. As of today, she is 13 weeks old and loves her new home. If you live in the Central New York area, I highly recommend Grouse Ridge Ragdolls.
Stella is an extremely adventurous kitten. She continues to explore her new home and has already become my snuggle bug at night. She constantly wants to be near me and follows me around the house. She has also begun to fetch little pieces of crumpled paper! It’s so funny how she plays because she’s just like a jumping spider. We have created several nicknames for her such as cream puff, puppy girl (since ragdolls are nicknamed ‘puppy cats’) and Stella Bella. She loves to explore new hideouts (such as my dresser). One day I came home and couldn’t find her. I searched everywhere and called out to her. I finally discovered she had climbed up my dresser to the top shelf and burrowed her way in. She has also become intrigued by the bath tub! She runs in every time she hears the water running and sits on the edge. Sometimes, she even dips her tail or paw in. We own two older female cats and are slowly introducing Stella to them. So far so good! They are extremely cautious but curious as well. In time, I believe they will either learn to tolerate each other, or best case scenario, become playmates.
As of now, we do not have a YouTube page. However, there may be one made in the future when we have more videos of Stella.
Stella’s breeder bought a type of cat food called ‘Life’s Abundance.’ They highly recommended it because both the wet and dry food was natural and packed with protein. This type of food can only be purchased online but will be delivered right to your door. Stella has been a wonderful addition to our family and I can’t wait to see how she develops!

Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,
I am thinking of getting a kitten from Grouse Ridge Ragdolls. Your kitten is so sweet! Your kitten and I share a birthday! I was also born on March. 12th!
So cool
I hope you both stay happy and healthy
She is too cute!

BIG CONGRATS on your new baby girl, Stella Bella! Thank you so much for sharing Stella’s wonderful story so far. It is obvious just how much you adore this little girl from the pics (my favorite pics are you kissing her and Stella sitting on the tub while you soak)! Adorable! Wishing you many, many years of happiness and adventure with The Best Friend You Will Ever Have! 🙂 <3
Big hugs!
Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3
Love Stella’s sweet story. She is just adorable and especially love that photo of her sitting on the side of the bathtub with her little fuzzy tail hanging in the water. Oh, too cute for words!! Life’s Abundance is a very high-quality food that a lot of breeders sell. Would steer you clear of any and all dry food of any kind though. The reason being that dry food has been found to not be good for their kidney function or their weight. Feeding wet food keeps them well hydrated. Best wishes to you and your sweet Stella for a long and happy life together.♥♥♥
Little Stella surely is a bright and shining star! I wish you many years of bliss together 🙂
