The SmartyKat Crackle Chute Cat Toy Collapsible Tunnel is a great little cat tunnel and is ideal for Ragdoll kittens.

Collapsible Tunnel for Cats

The SmartyKat Crackle Chute Cat Toy Collapsible Tunnel is one of those classic cat toys, much like the Bergan Turbo Scratcher.

Smartykat Tunnel

The collapsible tunnel expands to 9.5″ in diameter x 35″ long. It reduces to nothing, making it easy to store in a drawer or similar. In addition, it is made of a nylon material that crackles when touched (as you can hear in our arrival and review videos below), which makes it more enticing for a kitty to play in. Charlie, indeed, was less than interested in the tunnel.

Trigg was somewhat interested but still less interested than I thought he would be in the cat chute. For this reason, it might be best to start a crackle tunnel off on a kitten rather than an adult cat. Also, the diameter being 9.5″ requires a Ragdoll cat to crawl through the tunnel rather than be able to bolt through it at full speed.

Great review & videos (as usual), Jenny! Thanks so much for sharing this information. And…I agree about introducing something like this as a kitten. I like the idea of the kid-sized tunnels (from a previous post) for Ragdoll’s to use. 🙂

    Big hugs!

  2. i think if the hole was bigger they would like it better. i have the “discovery kids” tent and tunnel and my cats go apeshit in that thing. i know if it was a small tunnel they wouldn’t go in as often or at all. and yes on the crackle. omg i’ve woken up at 3 in the morning with them playing and mine is on the first floor and my bedroom is upstairs. i love watching them though with it. i had no idea they would like it so much. maybe they need to make a larger one for bigger cats.
