SmartyKat Bamboo Bunk Product Review

SmartyKat Bamboo Bunk Product Review We received the SmartyKat Bamboo Bunk with two other SmartyKat products and this is the first one we are featuring.  If you’re looking for a fancy cat bed that is lightweight, easy to assemble and looks cool, this might be the right one for you.

The concept behind the SmartyKat Bamboo Bunk is that it provides a place for cats to retreat to while feeling secure at the same time.  I also think the concept involves a designer cat bed that stands out from traditional offerings.

This fancy cat bed measures 17″X16.25″X14″.  As you will see in the review video and the how to put it together video, my Ragdoll cats, Charlie and Trigg, are a little bit big for this bed.  However, as any wise cat owner knows that doesn’t necessarily mean the kitties don’t like it.  If they like it, they will find a way to use it.  However, in general, I would say this bed is better for smaller cats, rather than large breed cats like Ragdolls.

I never like to post a bad review – I just think it brings bad karma.  For this reason, you will never see a bad review on this site.  However, I will always post honest reviews – and this is me being honest.  I do think this bed is small for Ragdolls – however, I do NOT think this is a bad bed.  I think it is really neat!  I know there are readers that have cats other than Ragdolls or in addition to their Ragdolls.  I love how it is designed and love how you can easily put it together.  I love the little pillow that’s super soft and the little feather thing that they can play with.  Mine didn’t go crazy with the feather thing – thank goodness.  They liked it, but had they gone crazy with it, I would probably have cut it off just because I would hate for something to happen with it while I wasn’t at home.

They both were instantly attracted to it and wanted to go inside – I loved that.  I loved that it created enough curiosity and also that they felt comfortable about it’s appearance to go inside.  Charlie just isn’t a cat that likes to be enclosed, so he had little interest in it – but Trigg did use it on and off.  One of the problems might be that we have so many bed options – and therefore, he didn’t always choose this one.  However, I think he would if our other bed options were eliminated and as I moved this to the basement for the review video, he immediately got in it, as you can see below in the video.

The Smartykat Bamboo Bunk is sold at:

Wow! Cool product! Thanks for another great review, Jenny. Lurved the videos (as usual)!

I really like the look of this bed and apparently Triggy thinks its pretty cool! I wonder if My Little Diva (Miss Pink Sugarpickypants) would like it…

I’ll add it to my ever-growing Kitty Wish List!

    Big hugs!

I love your product reviews! Very helpful!

Just FYI, some of your readers have ragdoll mix kitties that are much smaller than the breed standard. My little girl loves the SmartyKat Bamboo Bliss Barrel Condo. And I agree with you that these are really neat items, and smartly designed. They look very chic, but don’t cost as much as many similarly styled pieces.

    Thanks for all you do!
