Sadie – Ragdoll of the Week

I was so heartbroken having to send my Mazzie to cross over the rainbow bridge. She was my 14 year old Persian. I couldn’t think of having another cat or even felt like I could care for one.

After a year passed the house seemed empty and I missed that bonding . I knew then I was ready to give my full attention, care, and love to another fur baby.

I researched all breeds , reading everything I could about each one. I came across Floppycats and watched Jenny’s videos with Charlie and Chiggy. I loved how they interacted and what wonderful sweet personalities they had. I knew then that I wanted a Ragdoll!

Next step was to find a reputable breeder I could trust. I must of researched a thousand different breeders reading carefully each of their web sites.

I kept going back to this particular breeder that was not far from my home, I liked her website and all the information about her Ragdolls and how they are socialized. I went with my intuition and contacted Christine from NY Divine Dolls on Long Island. I asked many questions and without hesitation Christine was quick in responding back to me with answers. NY Divine Dolls is a member of TICA and has won an award for an outstanding cattery. Christine is in the coastal city club cat shows and her Ragdolls have won numerous awards. I would definitely recommend this breeder.

My chocolate bicolor fur baby girl was born April 12, 2016. Christine kept me informed of her growth and up to date pictures.

Sadie - Ragdoll of the Week 3 4weeks

In the weeks that passed I was busy buying toys, beds, cat tree, food and water bowls, litter box, brushes, scratching posts, all the necessary items needed for my baby. Oh did I say toys ! She was going to be one spoiled little girl.

At 8 weeks old we were able to visit her for the first time. The minute we saw her my heart melted and she stole our hearts. She scurried to me to play with my sneaker laces and warmed up to my husband.

My husband and I just couldn’t agree on a name for her. It was constantly changing until it clicked and we both agreed on “Sadie.”

Finally the day came when she was 12 weeks old we could bring our baby home. I had everything ready for her home coming. In weeks that followed she had settled in and was now boss.

She enjoys sitting on her cat tree watching the birds and squirrels in the yard. She loves to jump in the shower, then gets pampered loving the blow dryer and brushed with her zoom groom. After seeing it on Jenny’s review I gave it a try, it’s great for getting loose fur off and also gives Sadie a massage. What a little diva princess admiring herself in the mirror .

With each day she brought us joy and laughter with her sweet personality and cute ways. When she demands my attention, she will tap on my leg until I stop what I’m doing. She will walk across my pillow and give me “love” bites on my nose as to say “time to get up”

She loves to play hide and seek, running behind and under things thinking we don’t see her. She loves running through her tunnel, pouncing on her yellow banana , and running down the hall for her treats. Most of all she loves to play peek a boo, hiding then popping out . She is so comical and fun!

She will greet anyone that comes to the door. When I had the oil man here to clean the burner, Sadie had to follow him to make sure the job is done right. She’s into everything that goes on and has to be center of attention. She even held the flashlight for my husband while he was fixing the dishwasher ! When I’m working on my sewing projects, she’s right there getting into it with me.

She became finicky with her food so I tried different kinds but she wouldn’t have no part of any of those. I finally got it right, trying Rachel Ray’s zero grain chicken, she now was happy which made me happy.

Yes, she can be mischievous at times, once she stole my watch off my dresser and I couldn’t find it for days and she knows it’s a no no to sit on the kitchen table. She will look straight at you as to say what are you going to do about it.

Sadie is now 16 months old and we couldn’t love her more, she is just so amazing.
Oh and I am still buying toys, I can’t help myself. I would say Sadie is definitely spoiled but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
