Rudi – Ragdoll of the Week

RudiHello again! Rudi, featured as Ragdoll Kitten of the Month earlier this month, is now a one year old Ragdoll. He has grown a lot and he weighs approximately 5kg. Rudi also has a friend: a male blue mitted Ragdoll called Karri. Rudi got his name after a Finnish rap artist. So it was appropriate, that Karri the kitten was named also after a Finnish rapper: Karri Koira (= Karri the Dog) makes really good music (Karri Koira – Ne kutsuu mua koiraks / Karri the Dog – They Call Me a Dog )! We liked the irony in the name because, as you know, our Karri is a cat. Karri and RudiRudi has been much happier, when he got a friend! They play together, groom each other and look out for each other. When Karri has to wash up, Rudi rushes to help Karri! They are very cute together… And Karri knows that Rudi is the boss. Currently we have a cold and dark winter here in northern Finland so Rudi does not like to go outside anymore. It so much more fun to sleep the whole day beside a warm battery! But, Rudi is still the same curious mind that he has been as a kitten. He likes to sit at the window sill and stalk people at the yard and on the streets. rudi_1Rudi hasn’t been in a cat show yet. We are planning to go to a cat show on next summer. Karri is coming too! It will be fun. They are both very social and like to meet new people. Christmas time included a lot of traveling for Rudi and Karri. We were away from home almost two weeks. That was a little bit hard for cat’s, but it also included moments of fun: they got to play for a change in bigger houses! Oh, they were so happy, running around the big house! Rudi also posed in Christmas cards. The Christmas picture was taken at home. With a bag of treats: we made it. rudi_4Inspired by photographing, I joined to an agility association. I’m planning to start teaching agility tricks to Rudi and Karri. This will ease photographing cat’s, because I will teach them the command “wait”. This will help to capture cats, because the cats will stay still. Of course, agility is not all about commands. It a good way to stimulate cat and teach him new tricks and provide social moments with the owner. We have only just begun training and practiced the sound of a clicker trainer. In the future, I’m expecting fun times shared with two cats and even better photos! rudi_2Please visit blog Ruudolf, there is much photos and stories about Rudi and Karri. From the site you can also find a Google translator! Rudi has also a new Youtube channel:  Rudi and Karri have a new facebook site, where you will see the latest blog updates and extra material! Best Regards Crescendo rudi_3 rudi_5
