This is my beautiful Ragdoll Rocky (lying on his back on the stairs). Rocky came into my life as a rescue cat when he was just 6 months old (in July 2018). He’s quite relaxed as you can see now……
He’s a people person & likes to be everywhere that I am. If I’m on the couch he is next to me or lying on the floor with his head on my foot. If I go to the kitchen he follows, go to the bathroom he follows, if I go out & he can’t follow he howls & howls at the front door.
I found Rocky on a animal welfare website when I had decided that it was time for me to adopt a cat companion. He was just 6 months old and had been surrendered, apparently because his owner was moving to a not pet friendly premises.
Rocky is a very vocal cat. If he needs food he meows, if he needs to use the litter tray he meows, if he wants out he meows, if he’s happy to see you he meows. He talks & talks & talks…..even at 3am if he wakes & finds himself alone he meows….very loudly! 🤗 is this really why he was surrendered I wonder 🤔
He loves to check everything out. The washing machine is tv for cats 😄 He’s not a big one for playing with toys but he absolutely loves balls made from tin foil; he gets sooooo excited when I get the roll of tin foil out of the kitchen drawer, then I have to rip some off, roll it into a ball & throw it around for him until he’s had enough & picks the ball up & takes it away somewhere to stop the game 😊 enough is enough he says! 😃
He enjoys sitting in the bookshelf just watching the world go by & looking decidedly handsome! 🤗
He knows what he likes & doesn’t like…..he did not like the harness that I tried to train him with so I could take him on walks 🤪
He is my beautiful boy & I absolutely adore him. I must admit though that when I was researching Ragdoll cats I read that they rarely meow (he talks & talks), if they do meow it is very quietly (he is loud like a Siamese cat), and they are laid back (he is quite needy & anxious). He does not like to be alone & displays this dislike very loudly – this is why I am adopting a 5-year-old ex breeding lady ragdoll cat (Arwen) companion for him. I have found out that ragdolls are very social beings & I think his life will be much better when he has a furry friend around all the time, especially when I have to go to work. I love my beautiful ragdoll boy Rocky & he has enriched my life immensely. I’m really looking forward to having another ragdoll kitty cat & to Rocky having a companion kitty…..wish us luck 😄🙏🏻🤗
