Princess Rini Rae was born to beautiful prize winning Ragdolls, Rocket and Robin on July 25th, 2007.  At that time, our 16-year-old family cat was losing her battle with cancer. To help ease the pain of the devastating loss, we decided to look online for a new addition to our family. We came a cross Catbird & Co’s website and there, staring back at me, on my computer screen was the sweetest little face! I fell in love right away! Brenda Hammett, Catbird & Co’s owner/breeder is amazing! After we had made our first initial visit to pick out Rini at 6 weeks old, Brenda let me come over once a week for playtime until we could take her home at 14 weeks old! It was so wonderful that she gave me the opportunity to get to know Rini, and spend time with her as a tiny kitten because that time is so short and precious. I can’t believe that was 4 years ago. Since the day we brought her home, Rini has run the house! Her sweet little personality makes it hard to say no, even when she is being naughty!

Rini has quite a few things that she loves! She enjoys drinking out of running faucets, and of course, nothing quenches her thirst like bottled water! Rini has an incurable fascination with ice. She comes running anytime she hears the ice machine running. After batting the ice cube around on the floor, Rini likes to watch it melt in her water bowl. Bedtime is Rini’s favorite time of the day. At bedtime she gets her favorite treats (Pet Naturals – for Hairballs, which I highly recommend every cat owner). Her favorite place to sleep is in the bed with Mommy, preferably on Mommy’s face … even though that’s not so good for Mommy!

Rini also loves boxes! Boxes of all shapes and sizes, if left alone, will be discovered and played with by Rini! She loves hopping in and out of the boxes and chewing on them. No box is safe from Rini! Rini is the first Ragdoll I have ever owned. I knew nothing about the breed until we found her. When I was searching for a new kitten all I wanted was a big, floppy, sweet and loving cat and all the research that I had read lead me to Ragdolls. Rini definitely lives up to the Ragdoll name. She is big, fluffy, floppy and super sweet!

Rini’s full name is Princess Rini Rae. I got the name Rini from a cartoon show that I had loved as a child. The character Rini was a spoiled little princess with a big personality just like my kitty!  After meeting her for the first time, the name Rini just seemed to fit. Of course, as all pet owners know, those names get morphed into nicknames and very shortly after bringing her home Rini became Rini Beanie. Recently Rini has made her debut appearance in the children’s book Mandy’s Heart. It’s a book that I wrote and illustrated, that teaches children about the plight of feral cats and kittens. All of the proceeds of this book go to Second Chance Pets. Rini Rae and her “sister” Miranda are VERY much loved and happy girls. I can’t imagine my life without them!

I’m Rini’s “grandmother”…so to speak, and in answer to the question by Lisa S. I looked on Rin’s Certificate of Pedigree and it says she is a “Blue Tortie Pt. Bi-Color”.. her father, Rocket of KatyDolls is a Cream Point Bi-Color and her mother, Robin is a Blue Point Mitted.

  5. Sweet, beautiful Rini. She sounds like loads of fun. It seems that she is a star. You are a great “mamma.”
