Rags + 5 Years

Rags Cover Photo Facebook5 years ago today I said goodbye physically to one of my great loves in this life.

Rags was the Ragdoll cat I grew up with and who helped me get through some tough growing pains.

I still long for him when I’m struggling emotionally, he was my bandaid man and I miss him every day and tell him goodnight every night.

One of his requests before he died (communicated through an animal communicator) was to continue on with Floppycats.com. He thought it was important work. And I agree and hope you do too.  I did, after all, start the site because of my love for Rags. He IS the reason for this site.

So today and every day I celebrate him.

You can read the poem, Ode to Rags, that I wrote when he died.

Enjoy him and your own kitty today!

So sorry for your loss of Rags. Know he would be so proud of you for starting this wonderful place, Floppycats, in his honor and for all the help and wonderful things you do here because of his inspiration. Know he is waiting for you in Heaven and you will see him one day and get to hug and kiss him and carry him around forever. Thank you for sharing his wonderful story with us. He had the best life a kitty could ever hope for surrounded by a family who loved him more than anything in the world. He was a beautiful and magnificent kitty who taught you amazing love that you now pass on to Charlie and Trigg. He will always be remembered fondly. Especially love that video you shared with us of him swimming the in pool. Such a brave and unique guy! ♥

Jenny, the work you do inspired by Rags is sooo important and meaningful to cat lovers around the world. Thank you!
Rags was indeed very special and inspirational to you to continue something great.
Many of us may know the anguish of losing a loved one, but the grieving journey and healing/recovery is unique to every individual, as are the memoirs we create…so I love that you remind us of what he meant to you and still means to you.

    Dear Jenny,
It is a great loss when we loose our loved ones, we will never forget them, and remember all the good times. They touch and shape our lives and we will always be in their debt.
We are so lucky to have had them in our lives.
Rags sounds and looks like a very special boy.
I know I am greatful for floppy cats website has been very educational and informative, love all your youtube clips too feel like I have a bond with your kittys too.
I am sure Rags is keeping an eye on you still from his new paradise.
    Take care

    Dear Jenny,

All I can say is: I know.

I have felt Rags’ presence. So has Izzy. She does not dance with him, as she does with Muse; instead, she sits and watches, sometimes lying Sphynx-like. No, it isn’t Zen that she sees; it’s Rags.

There are some loves from which we never recover. But we use them to create. They continue to inspire us.

    Thank you, Rags.

Rags lives on, because of your very special living and loving memory of him. Haivng done this work for five years, because you feel he motivates you to do it, lets his memory shine for how very special he was to you and for the specialness of Ragdolls in general. What a wonderful tribute to a best buddy. I’m sure he snuggles with you in your dreams. Shine on, Rags…
