I recently published a request on our Facebook page, asking if anyone had a Ragdoll cat-focused YouTube channel to please reach out to me. I want to start featuring different YouTube channels that have Ragdoll cats – so readers can learn about them. Here’s another!
I didn’t plan to have two cats. After many years with my boyfriend, I finally gained his permission to get a cat. Belle and Beau were the first two kittens I visited. Both were close to four months old, and more beautiful than I ever thought a cat could be. I knew I loved them from the first time I saw them, spending several hours playing with them and watching them. But this would be my first cat in nearly ten years and I felt I had to look at other cats as well.
I visited at least twenty other kittens. I held them, but felt no connection. I then convinced Chris to come with me to see Belle and Beau to help me to decide which kitten to take home with us. Though he didn’t admit it at the time, Chris fell in love with them instantly. My boyfriend of 8 years, self-identified dog-person, fell in love with these two adorable kittens.
We left these two very special kittens with the breeder that night in order to give us one last day to decide which kitten we were going to take home. This felt like an absolutely impossible decision. Belle was the shy, still kitten with huge blue eyes so bit that you fell into them when she looked at you. Beau was the energetic goofball that just loved to play. I chose Beau, then Belle, then simply couldn’t choose. It wasn’t until the last moments when we had to update the breeder that Chris told me I could bring them both home. I was overwhelmed with joy! I picked up Belle and Beau the next day, and my life has never been the same.
Belle and Beau came into my life in a time when I often struggled, and felt overwhelmed with stress. Belle and Beau have been such a pure presence in my life, bringing a bright, innocent energy into my day-to-day life. I often share the story where I found myself crying in my bedroom after a particularly bad day when, no longer than a few seconds after tears started to flow, Beau hopped onto the bed to comfort me with purrs and cuddles.
Since the day Belle and beau joined my family, each purr has brought me peace, looking at them has made me smile, and watching them play has made me laugh.
I was instantly obsessed with these beautiful animals and their personalities, which is what lead me to create their instagram @Ragdolls_Belle_and_Beau three days after getting them. I created this account because I wanted a place where I could unabashedly share my hundreds of photos of these two with people who would love them as well.
Since starting Instagram, I have been so delighted so see just how many people love these two unique personalities. It was our Instagram that lead us to YouTube as our followers started requesting a YouTube channel.
We started our Youtube channel, Belle & Beau, a few months ago. Youtube has been a new place where we can share videos that highlight Belle and Beau’s personalities, silly videos, or even videos of them doing tricks (yes, we trained them).
This has all been a wonderful adventure, and I am touched to be able to connect to so many people who share my love for cats. We are only days away from Belle and Beau’s first ever Adoptiversary and I couldn’t be happier than to be able to share that moment with all our new friends.
