Ragdoll Cat Video: Do Your Kitties Play Fight?

We have several videos on our Ragdoll cat YouTube channel of Charlie and Trigg playfighting, but this one is one of the most vocal ones.

Do your kitties play fight?  Are the vocal like Charlie when they do?

Oh, that is sooo funny! Love it, ALL of it! Made my night watching this. Love how Chiggy instigated it and then Charlie “got the Whoop-Ass” (you GO PATTI!)! Love those back feet just kicking for all Chiggy can muster.
Love that Charlie took control of the situation (to show he’s the alpha of course, haha!), and then walked away like nothing happened with Chiggy still in the corner.
Yes, this occurrence happens all the time around here with Miss Illaria Rose and Gracie Boo! When Illaria instigates it, it is through a “grooming” session where she pretends to wash Grace’s face (that truly needs washing). Then it gets more and more intense until poor Gracie can’t stand it and begins to “fight” back and starts play biting her sister. Well, that leads to Illaria running like she is being chased by a monster. She screams for me and when Grace catches her, she spits and hisses like she is being killed! It is so funny to watch and and hear all the sounds effects. Miss Mari just sits there daring anyone to even try that cause she isn’t playing and they know better. Who would even think that she has no claws and they are still scared of her demeanor. Silly, silly girls! So fun! ♥♥♥

O help i really thought they were fighting. I will be getting my very first blue-point Ragdoll cat. I’ve allways had blue longhaired cats but our persian Mother and daughter never playfighted and my British longhair was a single cat and did not tolerated any company) and when looking at your video i really thought they were fighting. In two months Nova het blue solid (ragdoll/ragamuffin) sister from the same cattery will come and live with us too so now i am wondering how mant times i will be thinking they really fight when it might be playing…
So excited …in 5 hours Nova will be home

when mine fight fight – chiggy runs away pretty much screaming and charlie chases after him. it’s very different.

Good to know. Now i am heading to the breeder to get Nova after 13 long weeks
        of waiting. Hope
to become a regular and a very happy ragdoll owner. Will visit often because it seems i have a lot to learn 😉

Such a cute video, Jenny! Lurve how Chiggy starts the play and then Charlie gets out his can of whoop-ass! I think Charlie believes he won that round…so fierce (or at least HE thinks so…lol). Adorable. I miss have multiple kitties. When we used to have our Desert Lynx girls a long time ago they did this schtuff all the time. It would start out as a mutual grooming session and then evolve into a wrestling match and then they would chase each other all over the house until exhausted. They weren’t very vocal, though. Now Miss PSB makes a caterwauling sound like Charlie in the middle of the night as she patrols the hallway of our apartment. Don’t know if that means she’s lonely or is just trying to wake us up. 🙂 <3

Big hugs & lots of love!

    Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3

oh, patti, i think you have come up with another video title for me – “Charlie gets out his can of whoop-ass”

as you know, i grew up with a single cat – so when i first saw caymus and murphy play fight, i thought they were in a serious fight and broke them up immediately – ha.

i don’t know why PSB makes that sound either.

Think Charlie Mann got that Whoop-Ass out pretty good right here don’t you? That walk of his when he was pinning Chiggy and then when he backed him into a corner was pretty impressive! Go Charlie! Hope Chiggy learns how to do that and surprises Charlie one day too! ♥♥♥

      • Patti Johnson says:

Lol…Glad you like the “whoop-ass” comment, Jenny! *giggle*

I agree with you, Teresa, about Chiggy learning to surprise Charlie with some of his same moves one day!!! Your girls are so sweet, quirky and cute with the way they pretend to be so fierce with each other! Miss Illaria just kills me with her antics and Miss Gracie Boo is appropriately named as she is so patient and graceful with her little sister’s mischief! And Miss Mari….sigh…poor girl. Wish she could learn to have fun, too! 🙂 I have some pics of my Desert Lynx girls on FB. I’ll tag you to them, T. Sweet Sora and Jasmine were sisters. 🙂 <3 LOL about Miss PSB wanting to wake me up to play! She's such a little minx at times! 🙂 <3

Would have loved to see your beautiful desert lynx girls. Their play would have been so fun to watch. Think Miss Pink Sugarbelle wants her mama to wake up and play with her! How dare you sleep when she is awake, haha!♥♥♥

Definitely play fight, but they’re totally silent! Their play pretty much consists of Hunter laying on his back with his legs out straight trying to keep Emily from biting whatever she can reach. He doesn’t seem to realize he outweighs her now, but I guess submissive is always submissive!
