Prince and Felix – Ragdolls of the Week

Prince and Felix - Ragdolls of the Week 5Prince and Felix – Ragdolls of the Week

Originally posted Nov 3, 2014 – rerunning it! These are my boys Prince and Felix, two Ragdolls from Northern Norway. After seeing a Ragdoll cat named Ugo Chan on YouTube, I knew that I wanted a Ragdoll. And after visiting breeders and looking around we found our seal colourpoint, Prince. We took him home and we fell in love with him, instantly. We soon figured out that he needed a friend, so we started looking and we talked to a breeder for a long time and finally, our seal mitted, Felix, was ready to come home with us. Prince was so happy to get a friend, and they have been inseparable ever since. One of the reasons that I wanted a Ragdoll was because of their dog-like personality. We loved the idea that people took their Ragdolls for walks, and we wanted to do the same. We started walking them outside the house, small trips at first and then longer and longer walks. We started to see how much they loved to come outside with us and decided to take them for hikes. And they loved it, and now they can walk for hours. Prince and Felix - Ragdolls of the WeekWe have taken them with us everywhere since they were kittens, and they love to visit new places. They go everywhere: on hikes, fishing, to the beach, and of course, on an airplane if we visit family in other cities. We have the best hiking buddies! They actually love to go fishing and are so excited when we get a fish. They are now 3 years old, and they are so good when hiking; they don’t even need to go on a leash, they just follow us around like dogs!  They love to run free but when we call them or start walking, they come running to follow us. So when we get far away from cars we take their leash of so they can run and play. But they are both “indoor cats” and we don’t allow them to go outside alone, only together with us. And they are fine with it, they never show interest in going outside unless I take their leash out or ask if they want to go for a walk, then they run to the door. They are both lap cats and sometimes it’s just a little too much with two big, fluffy Ragdoll boys that want to lie on your lap at the same time. Prince and Felix - Ragdolls of the Week 8I also take my cats to cat shows, and they do great.  The biggest show moment was when Prince won, “Best in Variety” and was nominated for best in show at Fife World show 2013 in Aalborg. Their full names are International Premier (N) Ragstar’s Felix and Grand Internation Champion NO*Hekneby Cats Prince Charles. Some weekends we even go to a cat show first and then for a hike in the evening, and yes, the cats are a little dirty for the Sunday show, but they love it, and that’s the most important thing. They have an Instagram account named Nordicsnowragdolls, where we share pictures and videos of the trips. Our Instagram account name came from the fact that we live in the Northern Norway and they love snow! I was a dog person and grew up with German Shepherds, but now after having two Ragdolls I have to admit that I am a crazy cat lady! Join Felix and Prince on YouTube as well!
