Petree vs. Litter-Robot – The Price Difference

The first major difference between the two self-cleaning litter boxes is the price. The Litter-Robot 3 Connect starts at $499 ($474 when you use our link), while the Petree litter box costs $379. With a $120 difference between them, the price might be reason enough for some cat owners to opt for the Petree litter box. The Litter-Robot, however, makes up for the price difference with an enhanced set of features that provide cat owners with more options and facilities for their pets.

Depending on your budget, you can opt for a self-cleaning litter box or a smart litter box. Litter-Robot comes with an app that not only notifies you when the waste drawer needs to be emptied but also provides you with data on your cat’s litter box habits, which is extremely important for supervising your cat’s health. Find out more as we go into the features and benefits of each litter box.

    Final Considerations

Choosing between Petree and the Litter-Robot is entirely up to you and what you need for your cat(s).  The Petree automatic cat toilet is an excellent choice if you have a limited budget. It offers all the fundamental features that you would expect to see in a self-cleaning litter box. However, the Litter-Robot is a superior product. If you have a large-size cat, then the Litter-Robot is the better choice because it offers more space inside the globe.

The app that comes with the Litter-Robot is an extremely valuable tool that not only makes litter box management much easier, but that provides valuable insight into your cat’s litter box behavior. This provides you palpable data on how often your cat uses the litter box. You get a long-term overview of the cat’s behavior, which highlights the normal behavior for your cat. Without the app, this is rather difficult to determine because it requires monitoring how many times the cat uses the litter box.

Moreover, whenever the cat’s litter box behavior changes, you will see it on the app. Normally, it takes quite a bit of time to notice that your cat is using the litter box more or less frequently and when you do, the medical issue causing this behavior change has already gotten more advanced. With the Litter-Robot app, you can pick up on slight changes as well as abrupt changes and you can share specific data with your veterinarian. So, consider the extra investment required for the Litter-Robot an investment in your cat’s health.

Interesting, I have seen a number of ads for a litter robot like boxes for a bit on Facebook. I keep meaning to ask you to see if you can review them.
My cats recently stopped using the Litter Robot as much in favour of the old nevermiss boxes. I am hoping it is just the stress of having our house on the market.
