Petcube Pet Camera Review
When Petcube approached me asking if I would be interested in reviewing their pet camera, I was definitely interested. I remember those days at work when Rags was in his last years of life that I would have killed for a pet camera to be able to check in on him.
But the Petcube, as I would learn, was more than just a pet camera – it is interactive – allowing you to not only watch your kitties, but talk and play with them too. The camera has a 2-way audio, allowing you to talk to them and also hear them. The camera also comes equip with a laser light that you can turn on and use your finger on your phone to move it about the room.
The Petcube operates on WiFi and then you use their smartphone app to access your camera feed when you are home or away from home. I have included our unboxing video and final review videos below to show you what I mean.
You download the free Petcube app from your phone’s app store, and it easily walks you through the procedure -maybe the hardest part for someone like my mom, who struggles in understanding technology, is connecting the WiFi as you have to briefly leave the app and go into your phone’s settings to get that set up.
As soon as I signed up, I got an email welcoming me to the Petcube community.
And then about 5-10 minutes after I set up the camera to be connected to my app, I got an email asking me how it was going. They really seem to care that you are having a good experience with their product.

Petcube Camera FREE App
The Petcube App is a FREE app for iOS and Android users. Via the Petcube App, users can share access to their Petcube Cameras and share photos of their pets and find new friends.
As you can tell from the screen shots I took above from my phone – you can click on the icon that looks like the Petcube camera to access your camera at home. You also can adjust the settings of the camera to deliver push notifications when your cats have entered the room via the motion detector on the camera. Lastly, you can have a profile on the Petcube app and treat it similarly to your own personal Instagram type of app within the Petcube app.
Through the Petcube App you can:
- Access and control your Petcube camera
- Access (and potentially control) other Petcube cameras that people have made them public
- Play with your pet with the laser toy
- Meet 1000s of other pet owners through the App, you can share your photos, videos, etc.
- Customize access for friends and family
- Capture and share photos and videos

Petcube Customer Service/Support
I got responses in a very timely manner. They also offer a phone number on their website to call – which seems to be rarer and rarer these days. They send emails checking in with you to make sure you are enjoying the camera and making the most out of it.
The only downside I found to it was that there is no night vision – so if your house is dark, you can’t play with your cats.

We received the Petcube camera for review from the manufacturer and also asked that they pay a small review fee. Receiving the free product and the review fee did not influence this honest post.
