We requested a Pet Booster Seat by Solvit Products for review several months ago.  Solvit Products was kind enough to send us one to try out!

I used to take Rags in the car and have also taken Caymus, Murphy, Charlie and Trigg.  They all love to look out the window, so when I saw the Pet Booster Seat, I wanted to try it out.

I am really impressed with this product.  It is what it is.  It is super easy to install.  The kitties can easily get in and out of it and it is well made.

I have never experienced another pet booster seat, therefore, I wasn’t sure what to expect and how there could be negatives to it.  And sure enough, I guess other booster seats ubstruct your pet’s view or have weird ways of being attached to your seat.

The only negative to this seat, perhaps, is that it requires a head rest, so if you do not have a head rest, then you cannot install it.  I think it is wise to install it in  your back seat, so that if you get in a wreck and the airbag deploys, your kitty or pup is safe.

If you have a dog or if you want to keep your kitty in the pet booster seat, there is another strap to tie to their collar, so that they are not mobile in the car while it is moving.

The booster seat comes in several different sizes, which are based on the weight of your four-legged friend.

Product Dimensions for the one we tested = 14″ x 12″ x 8″ and weighs 2.5 lbs.  The Booster Seat has a 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Below is a video of Trigg in the Pet Booster Seat – I installed it incorrectly in this video – I wrapped the straps around the headrest only and not around the back of the seat.  When you buy the Pet Booster Seat, there was instructions included on how to install it, so be sure to refer those.

  1. Oh please, don’t ever hook your dog up by the collar. Use a harness or the pooch will break his neck if you have an accident.
I had to get that off my chest.
Other than that, I’m a Solvit lover, I have a bicycle basket from them and I aggree that their products are well made.

  2. What size Solvit cat booster seat would be recommended for a 12 month old rag doll who is probably 11-12 lbs now. Will cats stay put in the seat or should you make them wear a harness?
