Moody Pet Fling-Ama-String Electronic Cat Toy Product Review
The Moody Pet Fling-Ama-String is an electronic cat toy that comes already assembled and ready to go! It hangs on any standard door knob. It runs on three AA batteries that are not included. The long multi-colored nylon string is sewn on to a elastic “coveyor belt” which rotates to bring the string out and back in, as you can see in any of the videos below. Fling-Ama-String has two speeds.
The little rolls on the conveyor belt can get clogged, but it’s very easy to clean and took a long time for that to happen for us – in other words, it didn’t happen right away – and was back to new once I had cleaned it.
My cats reacted very similarly to the toy as my cats did, as you can see below in the videos. My cats always played with the toy when I turned it on, but I wouldn’t say they were nuts about it like I have heard about other cats. Would I keep this toy or buy it myself? Sure – the cats seem to enjoy it and as my sister pointed out – it’s a nice toy because it’s out of the way, hanging on a door – not something you’ll trip on, etc. It’s fun, something different that they can play with while I am fixing dinner, for example.
With that said, with any motorized cat toy, I would never leave the cats to play with it unattended – I wouldn’t turn it on and leave the house – as long as I am a few rooms away or in the same room, I let it run. But if I am not nearby or if I am not at home, the toy is off and the string is tucked away, as I show in the review video below.

My cats got this as a gift last Christmas and they like it fairly well. They love to play with strings 24/7. But they seem to tire of it after 5 min or so. I think they get frustrated when they can’t drag the string away…LOL..!
Yes, I agree with the frustration thing as Charlie likes to haul things around like that.
Got this for the girls after you had it on the arrival post. Miss Mari loves it, Illaria played with it too, but Grace just looked at it and walked away. Feel the same way you do about not leaving it out when I’m not here or in the room. I could see them chewing on the string if it was left unattended, so ours goes in the closet when it is not being used. Think it is a creative, and nice toy. So far, haven’t had any problems with it clogging up, etc. Thanks so much for always informing us about innovative and creative ways to enrich our girls’ lives. If they could talk, they would tell you that themselves!♥♥♥
