May 2011 Giveaway: Imperial Cat Zen Lounger

Post Published on May 4, 2011 | Last Updated on July 8, 2021 by Jenny

Up for grabs this month is the Imperial Cat Zen Lounger!!  Thank you to Imperial Cat for sponsoring this giveaway!

We have had the Imperial Cat Zen Lounger for almost one year and the cats return to it over and over again.  I have it in my TV room and they love to lounge on it while we watch TV – they also scratch on it daily.  This is Charlie man passed out on the Zen Lounger – bad photo quality because I took it on my iPhone.

I would LOVE to have this for my cats! Some of them try to nap on another scratcher that they have and it certainly doesn’t look comfy!!!

  2. John says:

I would like to win this so my cat could have something actually made for cats to sleep on since she has never liked fabric cat beds purchased for her.

  3. Peggy says:

I’ve got one cat who loves cardboard scratchers and one who prefers carpet. However, the carpet pole is falling apart! I’d love to find a new design to lure the second cat over to the cardboard too.

Posted a pic of Abe aka Bigfoot-I have alot of 7toes,so a new scratcher would be amazing! (p.s.:I get the blog emails-but just re-entered&the ‘feed-burner’ had a wierd msg after I did the captcha-I hope I’m entered…Good luck all!

  5. Jill says:

I would love to win this Cat Zen Lounger because I know my cat would love to lounge on it, all stretched out, especially if I put it in the sun in our screened-in patio! It makes me so happy to see her happy! (Also, I just subscribed to your email updates.)

  6. amy bealer says:

I would love to be able to win this item, as our ragdoll (who thinks the world revolves around him…) harasses our other kitty, and rather than take on the rag, the quiet boy scratches at screens to try and get away, or take out his frustrations…this item would become his perfect solution, a lounger for his own (the rag has claimed every other item in the house as his), and one he can scratch on as well….

  7. MeLinda Hughes says:

We have numerous cardboard cat scratchers, but they usually end up thrown away quickly. We’d love to see how the Imperial Cat Scratcher stands up in the rescue with over 20 cats.

  8. Lanae says:

I am subscribed to your email updates and I just submitted a picture of my kitty explaining why she needs the Imperial Cat Zen Lounger. So, this is entry #3. I would like to win this elegant scratcher for my kitty because she has never had a “bed” of her own, she usually just sleeps in different places around the house (and the beds I bought for her many years ago she refused to use. But she loves cardboard so I know she would LOVE this one!) It would be nice to give her this scratcher as her own special little spot to lounge on!

  9. rachael says:

tweek and punk would so def need this. i can not get my cats to particapte nicely in gettn there claws trimmed. hense my furniture needs a good break from there clawing paws. plus something extra for tweek to enjoy since he is an indoor cat w some needed exercise. oh exercise punk could so use 2.

  10. Debbie says:

Wow, that is such a beautiful product! I still haven’t found any scratching posts for our beautiful ragdoll Tiki! She will occasionally use a flat floor type scratcher, but it makes a mess when she does, as it seems to fall apart quickly and it moves when she tries to scratch on it! I would so love this lounger for her! She loves new places to stretch out and this lounger has Tiki’s name all over it:)

  11. Geo says:

My kitties would love this! I recently got them a wave cardboard scratcher but they don’t use it because when they lean on one side the other side comes up off the floor. My little guy gets scared when it drops back to the floor making a loud thud. These Zen loungers are great looking to match my great looking cats! : ) !

  12. Elise says:

My Vera is a rescue kitty, her formative years were spent in a cage-fulltime. Didn’t have access to this type of product. Since her rescue, challenge is to find her things that are now worthy of her highness.

Misty is getting up there in years (she is now 16) and getting a little lazy. This would be wonderful to put in the house for her.I think I hear her purring now just thinkig about it.

  14. Cathy says:

What my cats would do for a lounger like this! They love to stretch out all the time. Great looking too!

  15. AMD says:

I’ve wanted one of these ever since seeing it featured in your best items of 2010 feature. My cats would love lounging on it. We’ve tried some Nina Ottosson products reviewed here with GREAT SUCCESS, so I trust your judgement on what big floppy cats like.

  16. Rosie says:

My Asia just turned 1 years old
I would love to win this for him as a birthday present
    Good luck to everyone

  17. Suzanne says:

My little Diva Violet NEEDS the lounger because she has already posed on all of the existing furniture.
She fancies herself a bit of a “poser”, and feels this would be an ideal venue to be photographed on
all stretched out allowing her innate cuteness factor to shine! And since she knows that “sharing” is
a noble attribute she will share it with Brother Baxter (If she must).

  18. Azizah Asgarali says:

My sweet ragdoll, Tyco, would loooove to mimic Mr. Handsome Charlie and lounge on that bad boy! We lost two of our kitties a month ago, within 12 hours of each other – one to FIP at 7 months old, and one to heart disease at 8.5 years old – and Tyco has been quiet and lonely since then. We just moved to Austin, Texas just four days after the kitties passed away, so Tyco is trying to adjust as well as much as we are. I think he would love to have a new toy to explore, smother, and flop on! And I’d love for him to have a new toy, too, so I can take pictures/videos of him and see him enjoying himself again!

  19. sally schwartz says:

My cat, Sarah, loves the cardboard scratchers – actually, she never “got” the idea of a scratching post. This would be an elegant addition to my living room floor.

  20. Kathleen Downes says:

My kitty Misty would love this scratcher. Her cat tree is falling apart from her playing on it so much.

  21. Lisa says:

Oh my, this Asian themed lounger would look so great in our Asian themed living room (so decorated in honor of our adopted kids’ heritages)! Plus Jasmine (Charlie’s mom) doesn’t have a scratcher or lounger in there! In fact, in that photo, that looks as if it could be Jasmine herself! We see her in that pose often!

  22. Christiane says:

I’ll have a new ragdoll kitten in June. He’ll love a lounger to play on – and we both know how big Ragdolls can get. He’d love it!!

  23. Shellie A says:

Oh my_ Charlie is a good salesman! Too cute and what a big kitty! Our multi-cat house sure could use one of these wonderful lounging scratchers! : )

  24. Edith says:

Akashi no Kimi believes she is a Heian Japanese princess. When she isn’t tending to her nails on her vertical scratcher, she is likely to be found reclining grandly on her double-wide cardboard scratcher, which–to distract her from the fact that it is a mere rectangle–we call her “tatami.” How contented she would be with a stylish Asian-themed lounger! (It is no coincidence that Akashi’s name is Japanese. Her “mommy” is on the board of a theater specializing in classical Japanese drama.) And another fun coincidence is that mommy’s human daughter is about to graduate from college and move to Arkansas (home of Imperial Cat) to teach in a public school there!

  25. Lisa Barrett says:

With 5 cats, I can’t have enough scratching surfaces. Add to that fact that it’s a lounge too means it would be in constant use and well love. Thank you for the giveaway.

  26. katie mitchell says:

My cats would love to have this because they like clawing at cardboard boxes so I am sure they would loove this.

  27. Liz Schwikert says:

Of all the cardboard scratchers I’ve seen, this one seems really cool! I love the asian design, and I agree that it could be turned upside down and used the other way. We have a baby coming home in June and he says he really wants this scratcher… 😉

  28. Lynn Neuberg says:

I believe the design is PERFECT for felines!! Since they are so limber and are natural “loungers”, they would gravitate to this for sure! I know one of our six kitties would push the others out of the way to hang out on this COOL lounger for COOL CATS..teehee

  29. June says:

My beautiful Lucy would love this Imperial Cat Zen Lounger! Its elegance and comfort are perfect for her discerning tastes. She can sprawl out and comfort her 18-year-old self in style!

  30. Rebekah C says:

Taro does not like to use our plain cardboard scratchers, but Tonks sure does….so it would be great to get something more unusual that might motivate him better to scratch on its appropriate surface 🙂

  31. Eve says:

I am getting my home ready for the arrival of our kitty in a couple of weeks, and this would be a great bed/scratcher for him to hang out on when he wants a little “me time” away from his smothering parents.

  32. Heather says:

Our cats love to scratch at our chenille couch…So I would love to win the Imperial Cat Zen Lounger for them scratch & lounge on! The colors and designs of the loungers would go well with our decor too.

  33. Michelle Spayde says:

OMG, I just LOVE the pic of Charlie! We can NEVER have too many scratchers around here, and my boys just LOVE cardboard!!

  34. Amber says:

we’ve ordered a couple of Imperial scratchers before, and i was really surprised that in addition to being absolutelty adorable, they’re also sturdier than any cardboard scratcher i’ve ever seen before. our cats are young and large with razor sharp claws…and they love Imperial Cat!

    • Kristie says:

      Hi Amber!

I’m so glad you (and your kitties) love our scratchers! Send us a picture and we’ll post it to our website.

  35. Bonnie says:

I just posted a picture of my Sahara and told her story….she would love to have this lounger but i have a houseful of cats that love trees and scratching posts so in all fairness, the entire herd would love this product for their very own 🙂
