Lily Lu – Ragdoll of the Week
My name is Lily Lu and I am a 2 ½ year young Blue Lynx Colorpoint Mitted, who resides on the coast of Maine, near the New Hampshire border. I was born in central Massachusetts on a July day, and raised for my first few months with help from my breeder, Heidi Jo. I enjoyed life there and was the last in my litter to leave the house. It is so cute that when my mom and dad came to get me, they thought I was a boy and had picked out a boy name and bought me a boy colored blanket to lie on for the ride back to Maine. They were surprised to find out I was a girl, but it did not matter, it was love at first sight. I was too cute too pass up.
My mom, Shelly had a Himalayan Cat named Daisy prior to me and when Daisy passed away, mom said the house was too quiet and needed life. A client of hers recommended a Ragdoll so her and my dad, George searched online for a reputable Ragdoll breeder and found me. They traveled two hours one way to Brimfield, Massachusetts, on a snowy day to pick me up and bring me to my new home. I am an indoor cat, who loves life here in Maine, with the backyard full of birds, chipmunks and squirrels to watch. The toy box is full of mice, rolling balls and assorted goodies to chase around the house. Mom kept the flower names going and because I was so white when I was young, she called me Lily.
I enjoy my morning walks with my dad, as we stroll up and down the dirt road that leads to our driveway. My morning ritual is to sit by the door and meow until it is walk time. I know, I am not supposed to be vocal, but I do not want him to forget about my outdoor time. I used to walk with a leash, but now strut about the neighborhood without one. I usually walk with my dad, but on occasion my instincts kick in and I may chase a chipmunk or bird that happens to get to close to me. The dogs in the neighborhood know me and look for me when they pass the house, plus sometimes I will run into them on my walk and let them know I am the boss. In the neighborhood, I am known as the cat that goes for a walk.
