Lilly – Ragdoll of the Week
Lilly – Ragdoll of the Week
Miss Lilly’s former human (Kelsey who also follows you I believe) accepted an opportunity to go to China and teach English to a grade school. As she was unable to take Lilly and her family had plenty of Ragdolls, Kelsey put a posting on Craigslist for a rehome. I moved to Topeka for a promotion and finally had an apartment who would allow pets so I was searching for a Ragdoll as I have loved the breed for a long time. We decided to meet so I could see if Miss Lilly and I would be a good match. I drove all the way to Peculiar Missouri to meet them. As we met, I was instantly in love with her! Who adopted who is left for interpretation. 🙂 I needed Lilly’s companionship as much as she needed a good home.
Miss Lilly and I traveled back home to Topeka, KS and she cried all the way. I had everything ready, a mansion litter box, water fountain, new toys and waited to see what kind of food. Luckily, Grace gave me the type of food so she would have some to start with. When we got to the apartment, Lilly found a safe spot in my closet for like three days. I was so sad and was starting to wonder what I did wrong. I took her food and water in there to try getting her to come out. The next day, I took her into our Vet and made friends so we would be connected. And she was due for her shots, so it was a good time.
After some time, she finally came out of hiding! I made a Facebook page for her so Kelsey could see Miss Lilly is being well taken care of and loved. Lilly is a great companion….she greets me at the door when I return from work, she likes “talking” and “squeaking” hahaha and bunny kicks for exercise as she sleeps a lot. She enjoys being brushed daily and if I forget, she will rub on my hair brush to remind me. We have been working on tricks such as ringing a bell for a treat and jumping through a hoop. She’s doing better everyday!
The pet salon loves her. They say she is one of the best kitties that they groom. We do “brush outs” because Lilly likes it and she smells good after it, too. Plus, it’s good for me when we are traveling and she is calm when I pick her up. The groomer said they do not give calming additives, that Lilly is just happy to get away from the barking dogs! ha!
Miss Lilly is a snuggler. She always wants to be close and in the winter, under the blankets. When the weather is nice, she likes to go outdoors. I enclosed the balcony with bamboo and green outdoor carpet so we could be outdoors together. She loves it. Lilly also likes to play with the neighbor dog.
A few of Miss LIlly’s favorite items are: “The LitterHouse,” TidyCats Multi cat litter, any kind of running water fountain (She currenly has the Petco blue dish but we’re upgrading when we find a better one, for a new look), anything with catnip, her Tiffany Blue cabanna hut with removable pad for the carrrier when traveling and last but not least, for some reason she prefers Friskies over the fancy cat food.
Lilly’s Signature? The “Milk Mustache” we lovingly call it. 🙂 She is very spoiled and I love it. Well, this is Miss Lilly’s story. I try to post often on her Facebook Page. 🙂 Thanks for listening!
