KletterLetter: Alphabet Letter Cat Tree Furniture
**This post is written by Nadine, per my request after receiving a similar email from her (not because I wanted to toot my own horn! But, rather, because I thought the story was really cool about how their business came about).
In 2013 I got in touch with Jenny after doing research on chronic renal failure in cats on the Internet. Rags’s story especially touched me because he and my cat Timon had a lot in common even though Timon was not a Ragdoll cat. Jenny helped me so much with all the information she provided and I will forever be grateful to her. Although Timon was doing as well as possible under the circumstances, he eventually passed away in December 2013.
The time that followed Timon’s death was a huge challenge – and sometimes certain days still are – because I miss him terribly. My partner Lutz also had a hard time dealing with losing Timon. Lutz could not stand coming home to an empty house and after some hesitation, I finally agreed to his wish to adopt two cats. Under one condition: They could not look like Timon. Since Lutz and I had been watching the Floppycats YouTube channel together and loving Jenny’s videos, we agreed to look into adopting two Ragdoll cats. We were lucky and found two gorgeous boys: Finnley and Kimba.
Since I had donated many of Timon’s things, we had to buy new cat stuff for Finnley and Kimba. One problem was to find a new – and stylish – cat tree. While searching and searching and not finding anything we loved, my boyfriend Lutz had a ‘Eureka’ moment and KletterLetter was born. The feedback we got from friends and family encouraged us further to manufacture this exclusive piece of cat furniture, which is the alternative to your ordinary scratching post.
We could not believe how many cat lovers – among them Jackson Galaxy and Kate Benjamin, for example – architects, artists, and bloggers loved our idea. As you can imagine, we were beyond excited when we had our first customers, who purchased a KletterLetter and loved it as much as we do. So far, we have been selling our KletterLetter in Germany and other European countries. You can, however, buy a KletterLetter no matter where you are because we offer shipping worldwide. The KletterLetter is available via www.kletterletter.de/en.
Thank you, Jenny, for creating Floppycats (thanks, Rags!) and sharing your knowledge and experiences! And thank you for letting me share our story – without you we would not have Finnley and Kimba and there would not be a KletterLetter…
