Kasya – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month
Kasya – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month

Hi. My name is Elena. I’m living in Sweden in Gothenburg. I and my husband we have a ragdoll kitten – Kasya. We bought her from the breeder Pia Karlsson this winter in the end of February when she was almost 3 month old.
In my family from childhood we always had cats (2 Siamese and before we rescued a cat without breed). The last cat of my parents has name Kasya – from Kassandra. And I wanted to name my own cat also Kasya.
And what a funny coincidence, when we contacted a breeder in Sweden, she said that female ragdoll kitten is available and her name is Cassiopea, shortly Kasya!
We were so happy when got to know this information. Kasya was born on 5 of December 2014. So at this time she is almost 7 months old.
Kasya likes to participate in all activities that I do! If I’m cleaning the house, she is following me constantly and trying to “help” 🙂
We even bought a book with detailed description of breeds to learn more about this furry friends 🙂 And Kasya read this book together with me, enjoying some beautiful pictures!
She is growing very quickly and now she almost can reach the windowsill in the kitchen, that is a thread to our flowers there!
She likes to enjoy sunny days on the balcony, chasing some bugs and flys.
About toys – Kasya likes to play with toys that make some sound/noise. We have some balls with sound and also feathers – that’s probably her favorite toys. Also she likes to sit on her spot – cat tree, that she can scratch, use as bed and play with ball connected to it.
Kasya likes to sleep with us on the bed, she has her own pillow and from the first days she was taught to sleep there, that she continues and nowadays. As she is a kitten, she has a lot of energy. And if we don’t play with her before go to bed at least 20 minutes, then for sure she will wake up in the night, bring toys to bed, miaowing, and demanding attention. So it’s very important to spend her energy in the evening to have a nice rest to all of us!
It’s very funny, but our Kasya likes to play as a dog – bringing toys, when I throw them away, she is running after them, catching and bringing again. Such game can last up to 15 minutes!
About food, she mostly eat dry food – Royal Canin, once a day we give her canned wet food – chicken, salmon, beef and tuna fish. I believe she likes the most chicken.
For a good behavior we reward her with treats 🙂 Also after grooming procedures, like clipping her claws, that she doesn’t like, but still she is very patient! It’s good to give her treats after that, so she will associate grooming procedures with something good!
My husband never had cats before, all his life he had dogs. But now he is in love with our small kitty! He is a software developer. And he got so inspired by our Kasya, that created an iOS application for iPhones called “I <3 cats”. It’s about history of domesticated cats, peculiarities about their senses, detailed information about all breeds with nice pictures. And it’s absolutely for free, if you want to have a look at it, you can visit the website ilovecats.click and from there if you like, you can download this free app!

Thank you for sharing your Floppy Cat story. Kasya is gorgeous! She looks like a healthy and happy kitty. Love the photo with the tongue out. I hope Kasya cannot jump on the railing of your balcony. It looks like she can easily do it. Enjoy your sweet baby.
Thank you for your comment! She is not used to walk outside and that’s why she is even afraid when I bring her close to the edge of the balcony 🙂 But she enjoys a lot to spend the time on the balcony, even in the winter time!
