Jett Drake – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month

Jett Drake, Blue Bicolor Ragdoll
DOB: 09/01/2024
(Submitted by Jett’s Mom)

After a month and a half of researching the Ragdoll breed and joining nearly every Ragdoll kitten group on Facebook, I found Floppycats.com and read the two articles named Ragdoll Cat Breeders: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly and Cat Scams: Breeder + Kitten Website Scams.

Importance of Researching a Breeder

These two articles were such a revelation and enlightened me to the significant threat surrounding the purchase of a Ragdoll kitten, and I quickly realized I had come across many of these website scams and fraudulent breeders. With this newfound knowledge, I changed my approach and started researching reputable TICA and CFA Ragdoll Breeders only. Thank you, Jenny, and Floppycats.com for having this information available for novice buyers like me!

For three weeks straight, I reviewed and researched nearly every Ragdoll breeder from Georgia to Washington State.

Three Wishes Ragdoll Cattery

After nearly driving myself crazy and almost giving up on finding a Ragdoll Kitten, I found Claire Jaggers owner of Three Wishes Cattery in Ozark, Alabama. Once I read her biography and contract information and reviewed her Studs and Queens as well as the available kittens she had listed at threewishescattery.com, I went to Facebook. I wanted to see the reviews from earlier buyers and see if the kittens listed on the website were also the same kittens posted on Facebook page.

Once I felt comfortable with Claire being a reputable breeder, I sent a message through Facebook Messenger to inquire more information about the Blue Bicolor Male that was listed as available. Within hours, Claire messaged me back and provided me with information related to his personality, health, and more pictures, and I knew he was the one! Claire answered every question I had with such patience and kindness and helped to place my anxiety-ridden, truly fearful of being scammed heart to rest.

Blue Bicolor Ragdoll Kitten Comes Home

On December 7, 2024, Jett Drake made his entrance into our home, and we are so in love! He came with 30-day Trupanion Insurance, vaccination schedule, one-year contract, DNA testing, a gift bag full of toys, and BEST of all – he was already litter trained!! Jett was born September 1, 2024, and is a Blue Bicolor Ragdoll from Levi and Supernova of Three Wishes Cattery. He is currently 4 months old and will be TICA and CFA registered after neutering. Jett eats IAMS Proactive Health, Healthy Kitty and loves Friskies Party Mix treats.

How I Found The Ragdoll Breed

My introduction to Ragdolls started when my 10-year-old daughter began asking for a Ragdoll kitten for Christmas. Once I started researching the breed, I knew instantly we (really, I…. lol) had to have one! After losing my fourteen-year-old Shih Tzu in October 2022, I had not been ready for another pet, but after reviewing the personality, intelligence, and beauty of a Ragdoll, I was ready for another fur baby.

When researching the Ragdoll breed, I fell in love with the demeanor and companionship Ragdolls provide to their owners, but little did I know how much my family needed Jett!

Ragdoll Kitten Personality

He is the most affectionate, blue bow-tie collar-wearing, full of personality, and the silliest ball-of-fur. He loves to play with his red furry mouse and tosses it all over our house. He is also fascinated with my miniature Christmas tree collection that I have displayed and loves hiding under the bed to attack our feet when we least expect it.

Jett loves to cuddle, nestle his head, get belly rubs, and sit on my desk to keep me company since I work from home. He is so sweet to my daughter and lets her carry him around the house like a baby. My husband (not a cat person) absolutely loves him, and they take “cat naps” together in the afternoons.

We have fell in love with Jett and the Ragdoll breed so much that I have secured a Seal Bicolor Male from Claire’s newest litter born November 23, 2024, and he will be ready to come to our home the weekend of Valentine’s Day! I absolutely cannot wait to see two Ragdolls (Blue and Seal Bicolor) together, and I have read that two Ragdolls are amazingly fun!

Advice to Future Ragdoll Kitten Owners

To anyone and everyone looking for a Ragdoll, please take my advice and make sure you research the breeder thoroughly! A reputable breeder will have more than one source of information (i.e., a dedicated Ragdoll Facebook page with ratings, a dedicated Cattery website page, Instagram or YouTube), provide you with information, pictures, videos, and/or FaceTime requests without hesitation, and will only require a secured initial deposit to reserve. DO NOT fall for the websites that have the “purchase me now” tabs under the listed kittens, these are in fact scammers!
