Jasmine – Ragdoll of the Week
I was looking for a seal point Siamese kitten about five years ago in New England. I couldn’t find one that wouldn’t be shipped from some distance place.
I came across a site for Ragdolls and they had the fluffy seal point color. I found a breeder in western Ma. So I ordered a female kitten. She was born in april 2013 and I picked her up in June. She was a tiny white thing with a brown nose, ears, and tail. She had white mitts which we call snow shoes.
The day I brought her home she had long four hour drive in the car for her first time. She cried a bit but was able sleep for most of it. She was a whirlwind of kitten antics flying around the house. She was small for her size until this year, her fifth. Suddenly she has become this big fluffy cat. Her coat became the most beautiful color of coffee and cream. Her eyes are the color of a beautiful summer sky.
She is quite a talker chatting with me all the time. She is queen of the house. She is the most gentle girl always purring and wanting to be petted. I named her Jasmine which turned into Mimi and then into Mimi Cooper. I also call her momma’s girl. She doesn’t mind me hugging her close and loving her up. She is very playful and loves catnip. I planted catnip in the garden for the first time last summer. I didn’t know it was a perennial plant and it came back nice and strong this summer. I like knowing that it is fresh. I bring a sprig of it to her and she chews it and bats it then rolls around all silly.
She is very healthy and we have had no issues vet wise. She loves to be up high in the house and her favorite place is up top an Amor in the house. She thinks she is my personal alarm clock and wakes me up for work at six o’clock in the morning, how she knows I don’t know. She jumps on the bed and starts kneading on my body if I ignore her she will start to meow at me.
I know that I spoil the cat and allow her to be in places only a cat lover can understand. Her coat is very silky and she does not often get matted hairball, sometimes on her pantaloons which she doesn’t like me to brush. I have a fair amount of white cat hair on me when I wear something dark! We keep a lot of lint brushes handy. I am very happy I ended up with a Ragdoll cat. I love the breed so much I just got a new male blue point kitten to join my family. My girl is not so happy with him yet but with a lot of extra love she is starting to tolerate him. The Ragdoll breed is a beautiful cat the color of their blue eyes from deep sky blue to Caribbean ocean blue is amazing and I’m happy I found them. I have best pictures of her on my camera. These pictures come from my tab so I’m not able to show the world her best movie star close ups.
