Jasmine – Ragdoll of the Week
Jasmine was born April 7, 2017 in a small cattery in Salem Oregon at floppy kitty Ragdolls run by a nice family.
I wasn’t familiar with Ragdolls until I lost my beloved Gracie suddenly at age 7. She was a tortoiseshell cat, so unique sweet, funny, smart and could be high spirited at times, she was the full pkg., and I loved that about her. To keep my mind off the loss of her I started studying different breeds of cats, Ragdolls kept on coming up with the characteristics I was looking for.so the process started. l put down a deposit on her and had months to wait not knowing how I would come up with the rest of the money? It was an act of faith. So, l had plenty of time to come up with a name.
Thinking I was getting a bi color I was going back and forth between 3 to 4 names nothing solid though.
Turned out at last minute it was going to be a seal mitted girl so now I would have to find another name. well one day as I was reading my bible suddenly Jasmine came to mind and I knew instantly that was the one!
So, it came to be she was going to be named Jasmine, nicknamed Jazzy which naturally came to me not long after her first day home, while I was playing with her.
Jasmines first day in her new home was very playful for 4 hours straight then finally fell asleep.
I loved the fact that she was full of personality so sweet and funny she could make always make me laugh.
She loves to play hide and seek I would have to say that is her absolute favorite game and at times will run up behind me and tag me ever so gently on the leg and run off in the other direction wanting me to chase her and the game is on! A real cutie pie.
Then one day she started bringing her spring toy back to me (fetching) I got the biggest kick out of this, I had never had a cat retrieve toys before. And of course, she loves playing with feathers and her tunnel toy. At one point she started dragging her blanket around and I caught her getting my socks out of my dresser drawer one day and it wasn’t just any pair of socks she would have to look for just the right ones, particular! Well this explains the day I found one white knee sock in the middle of the kitchen floor one day. she’s really a character!
She loves sitting in windows and her cat tree watching birds and people pass by. she wants to be in the same room with you but not so much on your lap.
She is my 6AM alarm clock that works rather well.
She’s rather sweet, one day I wasn’t feeling well and she came and sat at my head and ever so gently tap it with her paw with a concerned look on her face. she’s very gentle keeping a calm demeanor most always.
She loves it when I carry her outdoors to visit my boyfriend who lives a couple blocks down from where we live, it’s her second home where she has toys, food and even a cat litter.
She can put a smile on my face every day, and is greatly loved!!!
