How Ragdoll Cats React to The iRobot Roomba Vacuum 805 for First Time 3YES!  I finally have a Roomba for Ragdoll Cat Hair!

I have had my eye on a Roomba for some time.  When I saw that it was $50 off at Costco until December 24th this year, I decided to take the plunge and get one.  Costco has an awesome return policy, so I figured it I hated it, I could return it.  I read reviews, asked readers about model numbers, etc. for years.

Below is the video footage I took when I first turned on the machine – even before I really knew how it worked or ran.  The cats are still super entertained by it, which is nice – because if they are bothering me while I am working (because they’re hungry and it’s not dinner time yet), then I will turn on the iRobot to entertain them.

Ever since I got it, I have been telling every person I know who has a pet about it.  And they inevitably will tell me that they have a friend that also has one and loves it.  I don’t want to reveal too much as I plan on doing a full review of it on the site.  But wanted to share the arrival video and post it in enough time in case you wanted to take advantage of the $50 off deal at Costco at the moment.

Please let me know if you have any hesitations or reservations.  Things that bothered other people about it that don’t bother me:

  • Emptying it – this is subjective depending on the hair and debris in your home, but I empty it after every cycle so that it’s ready to go in the next cycle.  It’s not a bit machine like your stand up vac, so yes, of course it needs to be emptied more often.
  • It gets stuck on certain chairs – so I have to put those chairs up when I run it.
  • It doesn’t always return to the docking station – no problem, I just put it back when it’s done it’s thing.  I take it to my basement and second floor to clean, so of course, it is never going to return to the first floor docking station up there.

You can buy iRobot Roomba Vacuums on Amazon too.

I am not sure Trigg likes it so much – he hissed at it today.  Ha.

What questions or questions about it can I answer?  What’s your favorite vacuum for your cat hair needs?  We did a post about Best Vacuums for Ragdoll Cat Hair According to Ragdoll Cat Owners.

  1. Charlie needed that “Beep Beep” back up noise when he was retreating from the Roomba! Been thinking of one of these, but always thought I had too much furniture for it to be efficient. Will be curious how it goes around and under things!

      1. Pawesome post, Jenny! BIG CONGRATS on again on getting your Roomba! The going under the bed action is a huge advantage to owning one of these, I think. I just wonder if our apartment is too small and too full of schtuff for it to adequately do it’s work. Seriously thinking about saving up for one of these, though, as I absolutely hate vacuuming with the Hate Of A Squillion Hates! 🙂 <3

Lurved the video, of course. Seeing your curious duo check it out is so much fun to watch.

Lurve that Chiggy has hissed at it…lol

I am so looking forward to your final review information on this awesome little machine!

        Big hugs & MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

        Patti & Miss Pink Sugarbelle 🙂 <3 <3 <3

  2. Such a cute review Jenny! Love Charlie and Chiggy’s reaction to it too. Think it would burn up at our house and have fur coming out the sides because we have too much cat hair and different levels of carpets, rugs, etc. for it to run smoothly. Hate to vacuum too, but don’t think it would work here unfortunately. Thanks for the great review.♥♥♥
