Happy 7th Birthday, Trigg!
Ragdoll Cat Chiggy Turns 7 Years Old!
What on Earth can I not say about Chiggy? What a complete delight he is. Since Rags, he is the easiest cat I’ve had. He eats almost anything, is never demanding, plays by the rules, lets me force snuggle him way longer than he should, he almost always greets me at the door, makes the best teenage girl disgusted faces I’ve ever seen, has a bad sweet tooth like me, makes me smile or laugh out loud daily – he’s just a delight!
He does this thing in the living room when I come home from being gone all day where he runs from one piece of furniture to the next. It “sounds like a herd of elephants,” as my mom would say. I have tried to capture it on film, but he does not like to be watched while he is running about. Charlie always just sits in the next room with his ears back, listening to what Chiggy is doing. But he’s just so thrilled I’m home and who doesn’t love someone being excited about them being home?
I “picked” Trigg because he was a male kitten related to Rags – he’s a great great grand nephew of Rags. He was one of two males in his litter and the breeder, Soulmate Ragdolls, asked if I had a preference between the two – I told her to let the other lady waiting make the decision – both were blue Lynx, but Chiggy was mitted and his brother was not. We’ve never had a blue Lynx in our family – and I’m always told how gorgeous he is by my family members. And he truly is gorgeous inside and out.
My favorite thing about him is his quirkiness.
Second favorite thing is when he flies onto the bed (where I am laying) and approaches me with determination and confidence that we’re going to snuggle. I can never predict it and rarely does he oblige if I ask for it. So he keeps me entertained and challenged by his random desires to do so. I love that it seems spontaneous (although I am sure it is not spontaneous in Chiggy’s mind).
I believe in my heart, he’d like a cat companion he could snuggle with or play with more often than Charlie allows, but it doesn’t bring him down. He loves and respects Charlie and the reverse is also true. Chiggy is generally a happy little guy except when I put on perfume.
I feel so lucky and blessed to have Chiggy in my life. I tell him every day that he is cute, fancy and handsome and also ask he and Charlie why am I so lucky to have them both.
A very happy birthday to my gorgeous Chigg Doo! And many, many, many more!

Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,
Hi Trigg … Happy Birthday from me, your kiwi cousin Peachy, courtesy of my mum Cherie. She won’t let me have my own Floppycat Account to log in with ’cause she thinks I can’t use a keyboard, but I know better than she thinks!!! My paws are better used for other things like opening bathroom doors to sneak in, and scare her!!! I am telling her what to say here, so I think I have conned her very well by having her type my words. Mind you, my mum just loves me to bits, so she should just write this message for me regardless. Hey, I am glad I do not have to wear a birthday hat like you do, but you really do look Ragdoll cool!!! Mum makes a fish shaped cake out of my chicken wet food for my birthday, then lights a candle for it, and expects me to blow it out … somehow you got the better end of the deal than I did. I know though that she loves to celebrate my birthday with me like your mum does with you, and so I think that’s pretty darned great 🙂 Have a wonderful birthday Trigg, with many more to come!!! Purrs and smooches, Peachy 🙂
thanks, peachy! i am not good at pretending i am trigg or charlie, sorry.
Happy Birthday Chiggy-Man. Did you save me some cake?
he had ice creamers.
OK, so I had to watch that cute video again! Love those deep baby blues so much! Chiggy is such a special guy and so funny. He always makes us laugh so much with those “stink eye” faces that only HE can give just in that certain way that is so hilarious. Now, if only he could talk and put words to those faces too! Hehehe!♥♥♥
thanks, teresa – glad he makes others laugh like he does me.

Happy Birthday Chiggy! Thanks to you and your Mom’s website, I became a 1st time Ragdoll Mom 2 weeks ago. Winnie is a mitted seal lynx and she is absolutely perfect. It took less than a day for her to become my little shadow. She is so outgoing and affectionate. She loves to greet everyone that stops by to meet her. Thanks again!
love it – thanks for sharing.
Happy Birthday (and every day) to the gorgeous, adorable sweetheart, Chiggy!!! Lots of Love!
