Haiko – Ragdoll Kitten of the Month
Hello, I would like to introduce Haiko. He’s a Ragdoll kitten here in Brazil and came from a TICA registered cattery named SulRaggies, an awesome breeder, who creates their Ragdolls inside her own house with all her other cats (aunties and cousins), they walk around the whole house and are raised with lots of love as part of the family.

Initially I wanted to buy a Pomeranian dog, as we already have three other cats, but my husband said to also message some Ragdoll catteries. He is a cat lover and told me that Ragdolls were perfect cuddlers, very affectionate with a dog-like personality.
I sent a message to all nearby ethical cattery but none of them had any kitten available/to be available, so I placed my name on a waitlist, knowing that there were more than 30 people before me, so I wasn’t expecting to get my Ragdoll kitten anytime soon.

One month later SulRaggies contacted us, telling us that there was a boy available and no one from the waitlist was interested in him. We went to the cattery the following day to meet him and also the breeder.

It was love at first sight, he was the friendliest of his litter and very curious, such that he had the nickname Foguinho (fiery or something like it in English) for being super active and also having an orange fire-like fur.
His mom was a perfect Rag Doll (literally), super floppy and I couldn’t resist that large, docile, loving cat.

He’s a mink ragdoll just like his cat-mom, not really traditional, I know that, but as I’m not a breeder, couldn’t care less about how he looks like, especially because for me, he’s stunningly cute and has such vibrant fur/coat, I’ve never seen one like him (until I meet him and start to digging up other Ragdolls pictures).
He has aqua eyes, as most Mink Ragdolls have.

Haiko was born on May 28, 2021, he’s now 5 months old and we have had him for 14 weeks, but we’ve known him since his first month and received weekly updates about him, all the fluffy kitten photos and videos you can imagine.
We’re still discovering his personality but he loves to eat chicken and whatever he can get his mouth on, plays a lot with his catnip toys and his cat-siblings.

He follows both us and his cat-siblings around the house all the time, always curious on what we are doing.
He surely enjoys family and friends who come over to visit and wants all the attention he can get before falling asleep right on the floor.
He also loves to take walks in the hall and is still exploring the rest of the building and the outdoors.
He and one of his siblings, Rena, a Maine Coon cat, are totally in love, spending all the time they can sleeping or playing together.

Haiko also has an Instagram account so we can share his growth and funny moments, and I also post some wet food and toys recommendations and share their lives and experiences.
I try to make it bilingual so we can reach more people and share Haiko’s fluffiness with them.

Haiko’s name is a variant of Heiko, which means ‘home ruler’, but we thought Haiko sounds better, so we went with it, and also sounds like Raikou, a Legendary Pokémon which I really love.
Submit Your Cat Story
Ragdoll of the Week or Floppycat of the Week on Floppycats isn’t a contest or really a selection process – as long as you follow these guidelines (that keep us sane), and submit your story and photos in full, your kitty will be next in line for Ragdoll of the Week or the Floppycat of the Week. If you are interested in submitting your kitty as Cat of the Week, we welcome you to share stories and photos of your cat or cats with us and Floppycats.com’s readers.

We know that not every Floppycats.com reader has a Ragdoll cat. And we’re not Ragdoll cat exclusive, so we started a Floppycat of the Week so that readers who don’t have Ragdolls could share their kitties too! Or readers with Ragdolls and other kinds of kitties, could share their whole house of kitties individually.
