Dave’s pet foods are designed with four principles in mind:

  • Healthy Recipes – food that provides your pet with a blend of ingredients suited to their needs.
  • Quality Ingredients – no cheap filler or low-quality foods used – only great-quality ingredients.
  • Great Price – Dave’s aims to keep prices low while never compromising on the quality of its food.
  • Yummy Taste – because you want your cat to enjoy their food.

There is a long list of ingredients in Dave’s Shredded Chicken Dinner in Gravy. Still, these are all carefully chosen to meet your cat’s dietary needs. In addition, the recipe is formulated to meet the nutritional levels recommended by the AAFCO cat food nutrient profiles for maintenance.

The can size 5.5oz, so depending on your kitty’s size, the number of cans suggested for a daily feed will vary. The smallest cats weighing around 5lb, should have between half a can and a whole can within a day.

Cats weighing 10lb should have 1 to 2 cans daily, while larger cats 15lb+ should have 1.5 to 2.5 cans daily.

Why is Grain-Free Cat Food Important?

A lot of cat food contains grain because it is a cheap filler product that can help to bring down the cost of manufacturing the food.

However, cats don’t need grain in their diet – they are carnivores. So in the wild, the only grain a cat would ever eat would be grain inside the stomachs of its prey.

Feeding your cat grain is unnecessary and can sometimes lead to health problems, primarily gastrointestinal or skin problems. At the very least, your cat won’t always get the most nutritional value from their food if it is packed with grains.

Traditionally, grain-free cat food is more expensive than foods containing fillers, so many cat parents on a tight budget might go for the cheaper options.

But Dave’s grain-free cat food is trying to solve the problem of choosing between great-quality food and great prices by aiming to offer a solution for both.
