Floppycats Mentioned in “Valley of Ragdolls” on Topic

Are you familiar with Topic? I wasn’t.

Topic is an ambitious new entertainment & storytelling studio from First Look Media, dedicated to working with creators at the forefront of culture.

Huck and Harlow’s Dad’s Dad emailed me because he subscribes to Topic, and read an article, “Valley of the Ragdolls” by Elisabeth Donnelly where Floppycats was mentioned.

He thought I knew about it, but I did not and it was a nice surprise to me!

It’s a most excellent article – well-written, chocked full of information about the history of Ragdoll cats.  Here’s what Donnelly says about us:

“A Kansas City-based business owner and “cat product influencer” named Jenny Dean has developed a blog and YouTube channel called “Floppycats,” and the site, she claims, has been “Uniting Ragdoll Cat Lovers Worldwide Since 2008.” Dean has uploaded hundreds of videos with titles in English and Japanese. In one, “How to Do Airplane with Your Ragdoll Cat,” she takes her cat Charlie, lies down, and perches his body on her feet before lifting him up to the sky so that he’s balancing, airplane-style, as she moves her legs back and forth. “It’s a really good ab workout,” she promises. The cat remains remarkably still, with his tail mildly twitching for balance.”

Here’s the video she refers to:

Thank you to Topic for including us =).

YOU are most welcome! Hope you are enjoying this Heat Wave (kinda extreme with this 100+ degree heat indexes!)! I am trying to maintain an “Early To Bed & Early to Rise” schedule (which is TOTALLY AGAINST my Night Owl Nature) so I can be out the door for my daily walk & Starbucks rest and reflection time during the middle of my walk (lurve my SB iced green teas so much!) by 05:30 AM each day. Been successful for 6 days in a row now!! Wishing you and your boys a lovely rest of this beautiful and hot weekend!! Big hugs! 🙂 <3

you know I am loving this heat – except for when i sleep – had to remove a massive tree in september and my house is a lot harder to keep cool. do not like sleeping when it’s hot! glad you are 6 days in a row now – well done! keep up the hard work!

Thanks, Jenny honey!! So sorry about the sleep issues. Yeah, I can’t sleep in a warm room at all either! Our AC has trouble keeping up with the extreme heat index days. We had it set to 69 degrees yesterday and it couldn’t get below 72 to 74 degrees during the heat of the day yesterday and it will be the same today. But 72 – 74 if very manageable for me now that my heat intolerance is cured. Hope it cools off a bit in your house so you can sleep better!! Big hugs!! 🙂 <3
