A Thorough Guide to Cat Products

Every year, I publish a Holiday Cat Product Gift Guide – it’s a ton of work to put together.  This year, I asked if the readers liked it because of the amount of work that is put into it.  Additionally, the cost of having a graphic designer put it together, etc. is a lot – so I wanted to ask the readership if it was a worthwhile document for them before I continued to do it.

Many replied that they really liked the guide and one reader, in particular, Patti, mentioned that it didn’t need to be limited to the holidays – that it could be used year around.  I wish I had thought about it that way long ago!  So I took Patti’s advice and have turned our Holiday Cat Product Gift Guide into our first ever “Floppycats Cat Product Guide“.  Thanks, Patti!

Floppycats Cat Product Guide

Our Floppycats Cat Product Guide includes cat toys, games, cat treats, cat beds, cat towers, cat scratchers, cat dishes and more. Under each listing are 2-3 links – one to our review of the product, one to a YouTube video we’ve done with the product and a third a link to where you can buy it. Please note: product pricing may fluctuate from the time the guide was made. The price listed is to give an idea of how much the product costs. Please know I did not receive compensation in selecting these items, I do not allow sponsorship for our cat product guide.

Yes thanks, I’ve finally ordered one.

The Neko flies have arrived. They are much more durable than all the existing dangling toys I’ve bought in the UK. The pole is strong and the clips are much better too. I like the idea of the cord being attached to the toy rather than the pole, as it’s generally the cord or clip that breaks, so you end up with toys that can’t be attached. I bought a few of the toys. The Foxifur Kittenator mouse is particularly good and very realistic when you drag it along on the floor. My cats love chasing things so these are ideal. Hopefully they will last much longer.

I would just like to thank you for taking the time to put this this “Cat Product Guide” together, and thank you for all of the information you have provided on your webpage, Facebook and YouTube videos. The information and reviews on the products has been invaluable to me, as I took on two 11 month old Ragdoll cats in March and knew nothing about the breed before getting them (these are my first pets!).
I live in the U.K. so I’m not necessarily able to purchase the exact items, however, as you’ve provided links and details of the products I can usually find similar products somewhere online by a supplier who will ship to the U.K., or a stockist in the U.K.

The Neko flies look fabulous and it looks as if they will last. I’ve bought several dangling feather toys, including ones with 3 clip on products, but unfortunately they don’t last long with my cats, as the cords are very thin and can be easily chewed if the toy is left where the cats have access to it. In addition the feathers come out quite easily. The poles tend to be quite flimsy also. I’ve actually found a supplier in use U.K. so I’m going to buy these – even though they are much more expensive. I’ve also managed to buy a Lilly brush for the carpet and furniture as I had no idea how much Ragdoll shed fur! It’s just a shame I wasn’t aware of this product before, as I had spent quite a lot of money on other products that either didn’t last OR didn’t work.

    Thanks again

      HI Michelle,

So glad to hear it has been helpful for you. Do you know about our book as well? A Ragdoll Kitten Care Guide: Bringing Your Ragdoll Kitten Home

And yes, you have to be very careful with wand toys – because if they eat them, for example, then they could end up needing surgery – which would be way more than buying bad cat wand toys.
