DC Langer – Contemporary Cat Artist

Share:

-MeetTheDZCatsIllustrator/ fine artist DC Langer was born in Brooklyn, NY. She remembers painting and drawing along side her artist-mother.  No little kids’ paints for this little artist.

DC’s love of dynamic color grew, and became a foundation for her art. Her colors seem to come alive. Art critics mention DC’s unusually enhanced perception of color. She notes that she sees multiple colors in everything. She also associates color with everything…. numbers, letters, shapes and sounds. “A” is cobalt blue, “2” is yellow. This innate fusion of the senses is called “synaesthesia”- shared with only one in 250,000 people.

DC has shown her work around the world, with acclaim in various competitions and shows. A member of the Society of Illustrators, and a graduate of The School Of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, she spent several years as a popular figure in Boston’s arts scene. Also being a musician, DC has a passion for creating music themed art, as seen on her website, dclanger.com. Having also lived in Miami Beach, and now, in San Diego, DC finds inspiration, coast to coast.

The DizzyCats are cute and colorful cats providing silly fun for kids of all ages. DC created these sweet characters, inspired by her love of cats, and passion for dynamic color. With 3 DizzyCats books published, DC continues being inspired with more book ideas. She recently created short and funny youtube videos which include her newest DizzyCat character, Fang.

  1. Hi, Jenny & DC!

Great post! DC, your work is simply stunning. I have added your shop on Etsy to my favorite list and am drooling over several pieces of jewelry. Just beautiful! Saving up my spending money. Lurve the tahitian necklace and so many of the earrings! Also, love the DizzyCats. Just so much fun!

Can’t wait until I get some grandchildren to read books, too! I will be getting some of your Dizzcat books for sure! 🙂

    Big hugs!

    Patti & Pink Sugar 🙂 <3

    1. Hi Patti and Pink Sugar!

Thanks so much for your kind words, and for becoming a fan of my work. The DizzyCats’ books are certainly fun for kids of all ages.

My jewelry pieces are ever-changing, so keep checking. If i sell out of a particular piece, i can always make a new one, so just ask. I try to keep my inventory low, to keep the prices low.
      =D

      Keep in touch!
