Cat Food Can Covers by ORE Pet
I thought everyone knew about cat food can covers until I saw my sister-in-law using a ziploc baggie every time she gave her cat food. I had some covers left over from Rags (now that I have two cats, I don’t need can covers because they both eat the full can together), so I gave her those.
Cat food can covers by ORE Pet are sold in sets of two . They are made of silicone, can be used safely in the dishwasher, measure four inches in diameter in a non-stretched state, have a matte finish, and because of the flexibility of silicone fit three standard cat food can sizes. These cat products come in a cute paw shape that will endear them to any feline enthusiast; they also come in a variety of colors: black/grey, orange/cream, green/yellow green, and blue/light blue.
One problem that many cat owners run into is preserving their canned cat food once it has been opened – it rapidly spoils upon exposure to air, and simply pushing the metal lid back down over the food does not create a good seal (nor does using a ziploc baggie). This is where ORE Pet’s cat food can covers come in. As was mentioned above, the cover can be stretched to fit three standard cat food can sizes, creating an airtight seal around the can that allows the food to retain its quality for a longer period of time. These cat products have an average five star rating on Amazon, and if you look through the customer comments, you will note that this product has a loyal following of satisfied customers.

Hi, I’m Jenny Dean, creator of Floppycats! Ever since my Aunt got the first Ragdoll cat in our family, I have loved the breed. Inspired by my childhood Ragdoll cat, Rags, I created Floppycats to connect, share and inspire other Ragdoll cat lovers around the world,
I have plastic covers, but I put the leftover wet food in glass jars with a tight fitting lid. I think it keeps fresher that way. I wish my boys would eat a whole can at once since they much prefer a fresh can! I find if I crumble freeze dried chicken treats over the jarred food, they like it more.
ha ha – good idea – i just did that with some food that i struggle to get them to eat. works like a charm.
Definitely getting some of these next month! What great timing! We only have one older plastic cat food cover from Petco we got awhile back. It’s so boring and ugly. I lurve that these cute little covers are made of silicone and are so stylish! I’m going to get the orange and cream colored set — lurve those colors!
Thanks for letting us know of such a great product, Jenny!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Big hugs!
Patti & Pink Sugar 🙂 <3
These look great! Thanks for finding such good products Jenny!
Just ordered some of these! I had some old plastic covers that have disappeared. I need covers for the small 3 oz cans, and they were impossible to find. Can’t wait to get these!
cool – let me know how you like them =)
Jenny~~~ What food do you feed your cat? I need to do work but all i’ve been doing for the past 2 hours is trying to pick out a good cat wet food for my 2 princesses!
Hi Grace, I only feed them wet food. Right now, it’s mostly Weruva, Weruva Cats in the Kitchen, Nature’s Variety, Hounds and Gatos. I also like Lotus.
Any food without Carrageenan in it.
I like to order from DoggieFood.com – right now they have a 20% off coupon code – “Thanks20” when you order $150 or more.
I’m feeding Maggie 9 months, Chicken Soup for the Kitten Lover’s Soul. What do you think of this food and when should I switch to an adult cat food?
I do not think it is a wise idea to feed cats dry food (in fact, I am adamantly opposed to it), nor do I think it a wise idea to feed them only one kind of protein or brand of food. Please read catinfo.org to learn more and make the decision for yourself.
Cool. But I rarely give my cats’s wet food, as it makes them sick. 🙁
????
I’ve tried with Ragdoll Mommy…I hope she doesn’t find out the hard way about dry food like Patti’s Pink Sugar did =(
I agree 100%! I can’t even begin to explain how stressed my sweet hubby and I have been since we saw the first sign of Pink Sugar’s UTI! Thank goodness for Uromaxx (thanks to our vet) and wet food (thanks to Jenny and her great info)! Our household is finally getting back to it’s happy rhythm now that Pink Sugar is responding so well to both treatments! Whew! 🙂 <3
These are really cute…and the can covers are really handy. I don’t need them anymore since my 3 boys split two cans. I like that they can be used on multiple can sizes, too.
