Bergan Turbo Track

Bergan Turbo Track

The Bergan Turbo Track is a track that has a ball in it. The neat thing about the Turbo Track, however, is that you can change the configuration of the track anyway that you want it. You can also buy additional pieces of track to make the turbo track longer and more elaborate. The advantage to this is that you can keep your cat from getting board with playing with the same old toy. In other words, it is several toys in one.

PROs

The possibilities with this toy are endless. You could buy multiple sets of this toy and transform it into whatever you wanted.

You can buy a Turbo Track Scratch Pad to fit under figure-8 configuration. So it ends up being a scratching toy as well.

You can buy turbo track accessories at your favorite pet store. These accessories include new designs with additional pieces.

CONs

Although each piece twists locks with another piece, sometimes they don’t line up exactly right. And there is no solid snap knowing that the pieces have lined up. So sometimes the ball will get caught and doesn’t have the smooth consistency of their Star Chaser or Turbo Scratcher.

So if you have somewhat of a rowdy household with small children and more than one animal than the Turbo Track might not be for you. If you have clumsy dogs, then the pieces would probably not stay together that well.

Charlie and Trigg of Floppycats.com played with the Turbo Track, but it was usually with human interaction. In other words, unlike the Bergan Turbo Scratcher and Star Chaser, Charlie and Trigg did not voluntarily go up to the toy and play with it themselves as they did with the Turbo Scratcher and Star Chaser. So if you are looking for a toy to keep your cat entertained so they stay out of your hair or out of your way or are busy while you are at work, the Turbo Track probably isn’t the way to go. While the idea of this toy is a great one, the quality of it isn’t up to the standards it should be for it to function correctly in any household.

  1. Hi, Jenny —

I just bought my first Bergan toy — the Turbo Track — for my household of four cats-of-a-certain-age. I configured it in the snazzy figure-eight, but I think the hill/bump is a little too foreign as a starter for them. I wanted to do the curvy line now, but I don’t find any end pieces to keep the ball from shooting out. Suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Judith

PS Love my part-floppy…though she’s too much of a scaredy-cat princess to try anything beyond boxes and thread until it’s been tested by the others for several months.

    1. Hmmm…I don’t know I follow exactly without seeing a photo – can you email me one? Have you looked online or on YouTube videos to see how others have done it? I only ever did it in the figure 8.
