Bergan Turbo Scratcher + Boots and Barkley Sisal Cone Post Cat Scratcher = New Cat Toy

IMG_2228-web copyI love when readers email me.  They usually share beautiful photos of their kitties and/or genius things they’ve come up with.  Here was one that put a huge smile on my face.

Rhuel writes:

Hayley just came home with a 10″ Boots & Barkley SISAL Cone Post Cat Scratcher [from Target] for the cats.

I noticed the round bottom looked to be about the same size as the Bergan Turbo Scratcher cardboard center.

Turns out, it is a perfect fit with slight modification to the Turbo Scratcher. I used a razor knife to remove the detent tabs that hold the cardboard in the Turbo Scratcher and could then push the Cone into the opening. From the bottom side of the Turbo Scratcher, I fastened two screws to secure the cone in place.

The cats LOVE it!! They can now play hide-and-seek with the ball as it goes around the cone.

Just thought I’d share.

    Looks awesome!

    Big hugs!

Patti & Pink Sugar 🙂 (We are playing “catch up” on all our missed Floppycats posts while we had computer issues over the past week and a half.)

You, too (computer problems)?? Mine is ready to blow. And this isn’t a new thing. It began having problems at the end of season two (?) of Downton Abbey, which I *think* was several years ago. Whenever the nice valet went to prison.

Of course, I play the poverty card, with a half-painted kitchen, no camera, unraveling sweaters, a washing machine that reminds me of the refrigerator in “Requiem for a Dream,” while the cats have caves, free range organic duck from the butcher, every wand toy imaginable and, now, some hex bugs. I believe Izzy ate the small one today so I will be on litter box patrol.

But, no, I’m too poor to get the ‘puter fixed. Uh-huh. Clinician, heal thyself!

Good to see you back, Miss Patti and Miss Sugar. =)

Aw, thanks, DB! YOU are so sweet! And HILARIOUS! Lurved your comment. I hope Litterbox Patrol is successful.

I hate computers but love what they can do for us! 🙂

        Glad to be online again!

        Patti & Pink Sugar 🙂 <3
